Right from the start everything was more than satisfactory.
The welcome from the manager was very sincere and he was most helpful.
The 2 rooms (207 & 208) were comfortable, quiet and clean.
The breakfast was very good (the orange juice sign is a wee bit confusing but you do NOT have to pay for the ordinary juice).
The slopes, bars and stores were just a very short walk away.
Not often I shake a hotel manager's hand when I leave but was happy to do so-if we go to St Anton again we will definitely head for The Banyan.

Stayed at end of Jan 13. Relatively easy to find hotel, set back just off the main shopping street in St Anton, so located well for a stroll around the shops. A 5min walk to the main ski lift station, and about 8mins walk from train station. The room was very clean and quite adequate for what is needed if you don't intend to spend much of the day in the room. Enough room to move around the beds and places to put baggage etc. Breakfast (included) was the standard fare for alpine hotels, but one thing i have never come across which i thought most unusual was a sign near the fresh orange juice saying there was a 3 euro charge for it. Seemed completely out of place, and somewhat stingy to be charging for something that is free everywhere else. Unless of course it was special super juice, but never tried it to confirm that. Staff seemed friendly, and happy to chat when engaged otherwise they stayed out of your way. Would i stay again? Probably; its a safe option - but would also be easily swayed into trying elsewhere in St Anton too, given the room rates are fairly 'solid', and it was 'fine' but probably not 'memorable' ..

My wife and I have just returned from a one week stay in this hotel. We cannot recognise some of the negative comments left by others although we travelled on a tour package rather than booking and paying direct. The manager was fully attentive to our needs, during our stay, and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was plentiful and fresh, unlike some other hotels we have stayed at. The room was clean and comfortable with a view of the mountains and St Anton, located on the second floor.

The location is perfect in that it is away from the pedestrain area, which becomes very noisy at night. By using the free ski depot at Alber Sport, using voucher provided by the hotel, there is no need to be walking in ski boots or carrying equipment to the Galzigbahn. A bonus for me was the opportunity to purchase my lift pass at reception, this can save a considerable wait at the lift station!

My wife is a non-skier and enjoyed the use of the pool and leisure facilities. The bar is compact yet comfortable and well stocked. Fresh hot snacks are also available if required.

We fully intend to stay at this hotel next year.

Stayed from jan 8th to 11th 2012. Easy to locate just set back off main street, undergound parking directly below. Fantastic reception staff, immediately checked us in, nice clean tiday contemporary room (number 1) if interested, ground floor. Lovely bar area, relaxing wellness area with refreshingly cool pool! 2minutes walk to nightlife, 5 mins walk to main gondola station. great brekfast, even a hot choice buffet of eggs/bacon/sausages etc which was a welcome surprise.

Banyan is a small, recently renovated hotel on the main street in St. Anton (Dorfstrasse), in the middle of the village. It is a short walk from the train station but if you're towing a suitcase in snow, it's a challenging walk. For reasons that are unclear to me, the main street and the sidewalks were almost never cleared during the weekend we were here, very different to a Nth American resort. The hotel is adjacent the local supermarket and a short walk to the ski rental places and the main gondala. At least a dozen restaurants are within a few minutes walk. We payed around 130 Euro a night, which included a reasonable breakfast and a modern room with king bed. Front of house staff were friendly enough, but when asked simple questions such as recommendations on where to hire ski gear all we got was "it's all in the brochure". Closer inspection of the folder handed to us had no such recommendations or suggestions and it was almost as though the guy at the desk didn't appreciate that all his guests were actually coming to ski! He would do well to brush up his knowledge of this pastime, given he works in a ski village.
There was a basement pool, sauna and fitness centre, which was pretty good for a the small size of the hotel. Like the rest of the town, there seemed to no effort to clear the snow that led to the hotel but this is apparently the way in Austria.
Overall, it was a good value hotel and we would certainly stay again.

Was there for a one night stay so don't have too much to report. The room was pleasant, with a balcony, not much view however. It is well located, a short distance from the pedestrian zone in town. Good restaurants nearby as well.

Staff was very helpful and pleasant, front desk not staffed 24 hours so be sure to know how to get back in if you are coming back late.

Breakfast was great, and server could not have been more helpful.

Did not stop at the bar but was in the lobby and looked like a nice place for a drink.

Room Tip: I would not stay on the main floor, as it might get a little noisy.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a very good deal due to being double booked elsewhere. Lovely room and very very comfy bed. Beautiful batchroom, albeit the showe screen was not very functional. Great view from a small balcony. Nice cosy bar, which is hardly used by anyone. Great breakfast.

The hotel is on the main street, just set back and down from the rowdy area, so quiet – but very close to the nightlife too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ski and boot storage by the Galzig Bahn is included in the price, and very convenient and the hotel is only a short walk from the lifts.

I was very happy with everything about this hotel, but this was due to the subsidised price we paid. I would say that the usual price does not give value for money – I have stayed at nicer places close by for much less. Except the value issue, I would have given this a 5.
