1st time in Austria and 1st time visiting a ski resort I the summer. Niederau is awesome, there is so much to do and see and every day is a joy. This is helped by Pension Hannes. It’s in a great location, beautiful building, clean rooms and to top it all off the owners, Reggie and her boys give you a welcome that will make you want to return.. so much so I’m booking to come back with my snowboard next winter. Love this place and can’t recommend it highly enough!

A fantastic family run hotel right in the middle of Niederau with wonderfully pleasing staff who were friendly and aimed to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Rooms are clean and spacious with a traditional Austrian pine feel and include a tv, safe, balcony and private bathroom with a shower. We stayed for one week on a half board basis and found that breakfast is a buffet style that included things like cereal, fruit, yoghurt, bread, cheeses and cold meats, bread and baps, toast making facilities, lots of different tea and coffee types or fresh juice options, however if you wanted an egg (scrambled, omelet or fried) this would cost you an extra €1 per egg. The evening meal was a choice of two fixed menus served at 6:30pm that you chose at breakfast, mainly meat dishes they were exceptional in quality and taste and a good variety throughout the week having something different every night, the poor thing about the evening meal was that there was no drink included so there appeared to be an expectation that you would purchase a beer (€4) or a tea/coffee or soft drink (€2.50). This hotel is perfect for exploring the valley with great access to both the Niederau cable car, tourist train and public bus service that will take you to the main town or end of the valley and would have scored 5 out of 5 if there was tea/coffee making facilities in the room, the time for the evening meal was a little more flexible and there was a drink included in with the evening meal. However a would fully recommend a stay at this hotel during the summer months as a base for easy to moderate hill walking. Ignore the poor reviews the staff and the hotel are lovely.

Just finished a 2 week stay in this family run hotel. It's a lovely, clean hotel, run with warmth and genuine welcome by Reggie, Hannes Snr and sons Hannes and Micheal. Lovely characters, professional, knowledgable and helpful in their approach. The place has a real family feel to it. And beautiful "home-cooking" too! It's also a super base for walking. We hope to return.

Just finished a week in Hotel Hannes, outstanding. Lovely room, with plenty of space, clean sheets, warmth and wonderful view from the window/balcony. Peaceful environment located close to shops/ski lifts. Fantastic staff, very friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you are enjoying your holiday. Food was brilliant, good variety of homecooked meals which were all thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay, the room was spacious, with comfortable beds and loads of hot water after a hard day on the mountain! The spa area with sauna and steam room was a great way to relax.

Skiing is possible to the top of the drive (100m) and the boot room and ski storage easily accessible in the basement.

Dinner was at 6.30pm and a sociable affair. Hannes and Michael orchestrated the food and drinks orders and we had a real laugh with them. Our first night we arrived late and were still served a hot 3 course meal

For us there were no negatives, it’s a great value for money hotel. Thanks
