“Beautiful place, friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2012

We came in this hotel for the fifth year. Everything is great here, rooms are nice- especially the apartments are very spacious, people are very friendly, food in the restaurant is amazing, with wonderful breakfast and a lot of dinner choices, a lot of options for entertainment in the hotel, a very beautiful Spa for the whole family- including the kids. I believe that they have only one big problem to solve: they don’t have any wire less internet option in the room and the system of getting internet is very complicated- you need a password for every 10 hours of using internet and that’s not comfortable. Even in the lobby bar you don’t have free internet, you need a password for it. You don’t have to pay for it but you always go at the reception to ask a password. Another detail regarding the cosmetics from the room: they don’t offer any conditioner and also the shower gel is from a dispenser, you don’t know what quality is and I consider that for a 5 star hotel is not the proper one.
Even so our holiday was a beautiful one and we will come back in this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: the new wing of the hotel has more modern rooms, the rest of the hotel has rustic but romantic desig...

The hotel is approx. 15 years old. However, it appears as new. The service is excellent. The dinner (breakfast as well) is a daily highlight. I've never had better food in a hotel before. The wine list is almost endless (the price as well) The bottle starts at 30 EUR and ends at 9000 EUR!. The wellness area offers everything for a relaxed vacation.

we stayed one week in Febuary. The rooms are nice and comfortable and very clean. they arrange it 2-3 times a day. Breakfast and dinner are very good although it is recomended to eat at least 2-3 times at the gourmet restaurant which is much better. Drink a lot before you go to eat. They dont serve tap water so water is so expensive there...the spa is great. a very good hotel but no personal attitude to guests...it is worth checking other hotels as well although for sure they have the best spa in town.

This hotel has it all, spacious if not comfortable rooms, a well equipped gym and a great pool area. The restaurant is good, and the Michelin star restaurant is excellent. The location is great with various surrounding restaurants and the ski lift just around the corner. The rooms are a little dated but they fit the hotel's alpine style, could do with a minor makeover. One minor gripe for a five star hotel is the lack of wireless internet connection in room, especially in this age of the iphone etc! There is wireless internet in the bar area but this is plagued by smokers, so not an ideal environment for non-smokers. Smoking is horrible here for non-smokers at time of last visit.
Excellent food, great staff, but lack of personal touch from management, great location, great resort and an ideal hideout for us keen 'gourmet' slope slider's.

I am reluctant to give a favourable review to this hotel or Ischgl as it is so good and difficult to get a reservation (7 day minimum) that one doesn't want to exacerbate the situation in future. However, the resort is charming, excellent accessible skiing with very good lift system and not too crowded with variety of good mountain restaurants reasonably priced. Only drawbacks to resort are significantly male skiers (mostly german & austrian) but all cheery and well mannered, but night clubs (some of which are very good) and restaurants are rather unbalanced.
Hotel is top rate. Rooms very comfortable and spotless. Food excellent. Staff charming and very able. Spa & Pool terrific. Very good location 50m from slopes. Quite expensive, but this is as good as it gets in the mountains

I was persuaded to go to this hotel by Snow Finders and was very woried about skiing at Ischgl. I jst wasnt sure it could live up to my usual haunts of Whistler, Val d'Isere, Courchevel, Vail, etc. Once I arrived I realised why the agency guaranteed enjoyment. I have stayed in 5 star hotels across the Alps and North America and this is the best ever for all round enjoyment. The staff were curtious, friendly and efficient. the rooms superb, and the spa area - just the best. The hotel has various guest nationalities and they ensure theyhave a waiter who will speak your own language whether that is German, English, Swedish, Russian, etc. The food is amazing and prepared by a 2 star Michelin-equivalent celebrity chef. If you compare this to the astronomical prices in Courchevel you'll only ever ski here again. Never heard of Ischgl? - it offers 350kms of piste in the area and is a favourite with well healed Austrians and Germans.... just don't tell the Russians! Snow Finders tel: (--) have the best deals and the staff really know every resort and hotel to compare it against. This ski in hotel even has it's own exclusive nightclub (free to guests and no queing for guests) with live bands and a ahem, gentlemans club where ladies dance for lots of euros. It also has one of the busiest apres ski bars teh "Trofana Alm". whether you are a couple, family, or group this is a great luxury hotel. Go now and experience something new and experience the best.

My husband an I spent the night of Aug. 12 in a Double deluxe room at the Royal and were very much impressed. Very well appointed room with spacious bathroom (two vanities) and seperate second toilet. The room itself is very spacious, too (45sqm), beds are comfortable and they have a nice sitting area. The spa area is excellent, well kept and clean and attentive staff. The water in the whirlpool is rather cold, but otherwise nothing to complain about. Most impressive was the extremely friendly and attentive service. We had not even booked half-pension, but when we came downstairs into the restaurant for supper, the head waiter welcomed us by our name! They pay very much attention to detail and are eager to serve / please the guest. Both supper and breakfast were of excellent quality, the wine menue is most impressive. But bring some extra cash, if you wish to go deep into their cellars. There are bottles priced over 2000 Euro. We rather stumbled into this hotel by accident, but it was the best accident that has ever happened to us. We will be back for sure.
