The hotel is family run, a very warm welcome with both excellent food, and excellent service from the family and other staff.

Having been to Austria on several occasions you tend to know what to expect before you get there. Very clean, very comfortable and with well cooked but bland food. The first two assumptions were spot on, this hotel was immaculate. The surprise came with the food. It was a credit to the chef and clearly the best hotel food I have had in Austria. It was a shame that the chef had to have a night off as the hotel decided to hold a Tyrolean evening, the service fell apart with inexplicable delays over a 3 hour period and some of the food, when it was eventually delivered, was a disgrace. However, this minor blip should not put any body from visiting this hotel. Overall it is one of the best I have visited in Austria and listening to tales of woe from people in the hotel next door, one of the best if not the best in the village. I first visited this hotel 40 years ago when it was called the Gasthoff Mayer, it has come a long way, well worth a visit.

Stayed here for a week H/B from 26 March. Our first impressions on arrival were very good and this continued for the whole week. A very attractive and traditional chalet style hotel with a nice sunny outside terrace for drinks at the end of your day. Our room was a standard Austrian twin with traditional decor and comfy, cosy and spotless in every way. The en-suite was absolutely sparklingly clean with modern lines and plenty of hot water on demand - definitely the most pristine hotel bathroom I have ever inspected! The spa was similarly sparkling and in great condition throughout and robes are available from reception.

The food was excellent in every way with five courses plus coffee every evening. We actually found five courses to be rather a lot to cope with but that's nothing to do with the hotel of course. All the staff were very friendly and polite and of course spoke excellent english. They made a point of shaking our hands when we arrived which was most unusual and very nice. The hotel is family run and it shows in the all-round quality of the service.

The hotel is situated slightly back from the main street of the resort which is good for peace and quiet but is still only stumbling distance from the action if you want it. Ischgl is a very attractive village in lovely surroundings and has lots of quality accommodation from apartments to five star luxury. It's not a cheap destination but then you do get exactly what you pay for - quality.

The ski area was fantastic - very wide reaching with lots of variety and of course very high which is great for peace of mind. We found quite a few fun parks and extra little ski activities like timed runs and crazy jumps on to huge blow up cushions. We played in most of them and had great fun. The weather was very hot and sunny during our stay and despite our best efforts our faces got burnt. We skied in just fleeces and left the jackets etc behind in the hotel. The pistes became quite slushy during the afternoons but hey, you can't have everything.

On our last day we walked through the forest along the edge of the valley to the next village and then back along the other side of the valley through the meadows - absolutely beautiful, like high summer. This place is definitely worth another look in the summer.

So, to recap, this hotel will not disappoint. We are quite picky but the only thing we could find to complain to each other about was the smoking in the bar which is something which is in every bar - one day they will catch up with us in the UK.

This was our second trip to Ischgl. We stayed 1 week at the Jaegerhof in summer 2009. We were so impressed with the hotel we returned in the summer of 2010, and stayed again at the Jaegerhof, this time for 2 weeks.

The rooms are briliant, very clean. The food comprised of a 4 course meal every day, always very good quality. The hotel is run by the Jaeger family, all very professional and eager to help.

We would not hesitate to stay here again, and we have recommended the Jaegerhof many times.

This will be our 4th trip to the hotel. Being a bit of a ski geek I stumbled across the Jaegerhof as I had heard Ischgl was a bit of a party place with fantastic skiing, but didnt have the normal loutish tag that some resorts have. I was right about Ischgl, its superb. I wanted to be skiing on my 40th and this was the place where I wanted to be.
On our first trip we were impressed by every aspect of the hotel, the other reviews are correct with regard to cleanliness, location, service and food (you will gain weight!) so I will not repeat all but just that it ticks all the right boxes. On that first trip we met an English couple, he was a skiing instructor in Mayrhofen and she a resort rep from the Wildshonau, and this is where they chose to spend their limited "ski holiday" time in Ischgl and at this hotel, can't say much better than that really.
The following year a group of 6 of us returned for my birthday, and all were unanimous about the hotel.
Every year the staff are consistent in their high level of service, Frau Jaeger is a very friendly and organised host. We have had a look at some of the alternatives for this year as Ischgl does have a lot of superb hotels but again we will go back. We dont usually go back to the same place but with the Jaegerhof we have made an exception, its very good value for Ischgl, yes it may not be as modern as some of the others but it makes up for this with class and quality. The balcony rooms at the front are superb at sunset.
Cant wait to go back this year.

We have just returned from a week staying at this hotel in Ischgl and the location is fantastic, as the other reviewers have mentioned the conveyor belt to the lifts and town centre makes a huge difference from walking in ski boots. The food at this hotel was really wonderful. You choose your main course the night before from a choice of 4 or 5 and the choices were excellent. There is also a gala meal on Fridays and we had a lovely meat fondu. (some of the vegetarian choices looked a bit strange but I think that is typical for Austria)
We were contacted by the hotel shortly before our holiday to ask if we would consider moving from the room we had booked to a smaller double room saving about 500euro. We were happy with that and when we arrived thought there must have been a mistake because our room was great! No mistake, other members of our party had bigger rooms, I'm not sure they warranted the increased amount they were paying however!
The staff were all very nice particularly Mrs Jager who was very friendly.
No real negatives except the TV in our room was very small, and I think wi-fi should be free, we paid a set amount to have wifi for the week and it didn't work in our room (without the door open!). All in all a great hotel and the location is unbeatable.

As regular skiers, we are pretty fussy as a group in terms of what we are looking for; we want covenient access to the main lift(s), an expansive ski area, comfortable lodgings, value for money and access to a swimming pool/leisure complex. It must also be driveable! Having skied in St Anton for 4 consecutive years, we had been spoilt! You feel as if other choices will always be 'second best' - well, we had the very pleasant experience of being proved wrong by Ischgl and the Hotel Jagerhof. It's a 4 star family run hotel, situated opposite a pedestrian 'conveyer lift' that either takes you to the Fimba cable car or the centre of town. You can ski back on a red run to within 75 yards of the hotel or just take the cable car back down and use the conveyer again - it's that simple! The hotel is not right in the centre so you don't get the noise from the party crowd at all (our group had 6 rooms and no-one heard rowdiness!). However, I do agree that you may hear the church bells, usually between 6-7am. The rooms are spotlessly clean and modern. The wooden furniture is beech (could be maple or ash!) rather than cheap pine and our room had a great balcony and flat screen satelite tv. The carpet looked new and shower had hot power rather than a tepid trickle! The food is excellent - 5 courses. Examples include Venison, Rabbit, Red Mullet, Lamb, Pork Medallions...aahh! As a party of 12 they sat us on one sociable table together - very thoughful. The hotel also has a quaint bar (buy beer and wine but not spirits - G&T was 7.5 Euros whereas a large beer (0.5L) was 3.2 Euros) but the lounge area got a little smoky at times - I thought that Austria passed a law in 2003 forbidding smoking in public places? If so, it hasn't reached the whole of Iscghl yet!! Free internet in the lounge if you get to the computer first! Otehrwise, wifi costs 2 Euros per hour - very reasonable. One of the highlights is an afternoon visit to their basement 'Wellness' area - it's better than most 4 star hotels! Okay, no pool, but it has a whirlpool, foot spa, steam room, sauna, infra red room, solarium, fitness equipment and a gorgeous relaxation room - lie down with a herbal tea - very soothing! As first poster, agree that the boot/ski room is excellent - heated boot rack. Last but not least, all the staff are great! Renate Jager is often visible, talking to guests and hands out a pre-dinner drink at the Gala Evening on Friday. The waitresses all wear traditional garb (bless them!) and will do anything for you, including catering for vegetarian tastes or alternative puddings! In all, I would definitely go again - it's a 'repeat' resort and definitely a 'repeat' hotel!
