Just returned from a week at the Hotel Fliana. Went for a spring ski trip with friends and it was our first trip to the Alps. Had a fantastic time - the snow was the best we've seen for this time of year and the mountain was nothing short of a playground.

Hotel Fliana was great. The service was excellent, ladies at the desk were there to answer any questions and eager to assist no matter how busy they were at any time of day. We called ahead and requested two rooms with bathtubs - they said they would do what they could but can't guarantee - and both ourselves and our friends got just that so we were quite pleased. My husband and I were given a fabulous room with a view of the slopes. We loved watching skiers come down the run in the afternoon over a glass of chardonnay. Also our thanks to the gentleman who without us saying a word and before we could think twice grabbed all of our snow gear, took it down to the ski/snowboard room, and put everything away in our cubbies while we were checking in/in a dazed stupor from 15 hours of travel!

We chose stay with half board, and were not disappointed with the nightly courses of fine dining and full spread of breakfast treats in the mornings (i.e. egg chef making omelettes and fried eggs daily, fresh sausages and bacon, array of cold cuts and cured meats, all types of fruit, cereal and oatmeals, fresh squeezed juices, not to mention the breads and pastries). Our only complaint was that breakfast opens at 7:30 but the omelette chef didn't arrive until 8am ish each day.

The hotel was an easy 5 min walk to a grocery where we stocked up on water, wine, beer and chocolate for the week. Right next to the grocery was the local bus stop, I believe 500 meters from the hotel, which we easily took to the Landeck for a day trip to Innsbruck.

Hotel bar was great though a little pricey - the bartender was helpful and always accommodating with suggestions for beer and wine, and made fantastic mixed drinks.

We tried the spa for our complimentary partial massages - everyone thought the massages were good but I think the 'spa' area left a little to be desired. It was very tiny compared to every other spa I've been to and didn't have a lot of privacy - downsides included no changing area and no hot tubs. However my husband and the boys loved the pool.

Noise level - yes, the hotel is on a popular street, and music is playing, people are singing, everyone is outside your window being boisterous - but around 9PM, the town really goes silent, so we had no trouble sleeping at all. If you want to sleep in, the incessant clank of ski boots going up the metal staircase to the one lift might bother you...but if you're there to ski, you'll be up already anyway. Town is a few minutes walk through the Dorf Tunnel right next door..

Overall a great stay and an excellent hotel.

For the first time since we go on winter holidays, we decided to go to the same ski resort as the previous winter, and the main reason for that decision was our satisfaction of Hotel Fliana last year. This time, our experience was even better. This, off course, has nothing to do with the location (which is simply the best you can get in Ischgl), but the Hotel constantly improves their facilities and continuously puts the limit higher to achieve full satisfaction of their customers.
Staff is very helpful and professional (of what i heard approx 1 staff per 2 guests), spa and relaxation facilities are almost endless, food is great...
Coming summer they are going to renew a whole part of the hotel, even if it's still perfectly fine. Sure we'll be there again next winter!

We've just come back from an 8 day ski trip. The Fliana is the best ski hotel we have stayed in. We paid more for the large contemporary rooms at the back of the hotel which had a fabulous bathroom with double shower. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean and every member of staff was very friendly and polite.

The location is the slightly quieter end of town, perfect for sleep - although the noisy part is only a travelator away! The food was very good, and matched the contemporary decor. Do wish they wouldn't charge for tap water, as the drinks prices are enough that this should come free. Apparently the spa and pool were great (I didn't use it, although my husband did) although the beauty treatments seemed a little expensive.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this resort as the hustle and bustle is very close, but the location is quiet.

Room Tip: The new rooms at the back are contemporary and large

I just got home and I allready miss the great ambiance and warm hospitality of this hotel! I went to a lot of hotels, but this one exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean and had a great view on the slope in front of the hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and understanding, so we instandly forgot our travelling troubels and had a welcome feeling. The food was delicious and for someone like me who's a bad eater this was great. Last but not least the location inbetween two skilifts (each aproximatly at 50 meters) was awesome.

Stayed at the Fliana in March 2013 with friends. Stayed on the 3rd floor in a great double room. Very spacious and well equipped. Food was excellent and the bar always welcoming. Overall thoroughly recommended.

We just stayed at the Fliana and were disappointed. The room we stayed in was nothing as advertised and the view we had was a concrete slab and the ugly lift station. The road in front of the hotel is ugly and noisy. When we checked in we asked if we might be able to have a better room, after a nasty look by reception we were told to wait 5 minutes and they would check. An hour later they still did not get back to us so I went to ask and was told sorry they were all booked and could not move us even though we paid the same rate as everyone else. The young girl at reception was dismissive and rude and could use some hospitality lessons. We booked a double room deluxe but again nothing like the web-site, it was old, worn and depressing. On a positive note we could not fault the food and staff that served it. It was outstanding and their service was great. It's also great for ski and ski out. But all an all after skiing all over the world for the price we paid it was not worth it.
