We have just returned from a fabulous week staying at Hotel Arnika. I hadn't read any reviews before we went, but even if I had I don't think we would have been prepared for the amazing 5 course dinners that we were served every night. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful, I think the highlight was the sweets buffet on Friday night. Everyone at Arnika is so helpful and friendly and really made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great base for skiing in Ischgl, you are only a few minutes walk from the lift and tunnel to the main gondola. We hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Just remember that Europeans tend to be naked in the sauna, my daughter got a bit of a shock on her...

We stayed at Hotel Arnika for 7 nights. The hotel is within close proximity to both the Fimba and Pradatsch ski lifts which takes you to the Idalph ski area. The hotel can be reached via an escalator and is located in a quiet street.

A ski rental shop is located adjacent to the exit from the escalator and directly across from the Pardatsch gondola station.

We stayed in double room number 36. We had a good view of the pretty church and the mountains. The room's layout is good - plenty of cupboard space is provided and a seating area. The room has a small flatscreen television and a mini fridge. The bathroom is relatively spacious with a single basin, toilet and bath/shower combo.

The breakfast provide included eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, rolls, jams, honey, fruit ect. My favourite was the excellent smoked salmon, cheese and berries.

I was very impressed with the dinner service which included rolls with spread, soup, salad from the salad bar, a starter, main, dessert and cheese platter every night. The soups were excellent and garnished with fresh cream and herbs. The starters were tasty and plated beautifully. I loved the fresh salad provided and the fish mains. My husband's favourite was the pork spare ribs. I also enjoyed the fondue dinner and the stunning desserts.

This family run hotel really deserves its rating on Tripadvisor. The owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. They complied with every request we had.

My only regret was that the room did not include a coffee/tea station. I would usually order tea after an exciting day of skiing and some drinks at the Hotel Elizabeth.

We used the facilities in the spa on our last day and everything was pristine and beautiful.

We enjoyed skiing at Ischgl since the ski lift system is efficient and the slopes are well groomed and wide. We hardly noticed any beginners and as such I felt safer on the slopes. The valley is beautiful and I really enjoyed the Austrian hospitality, quiet efficiency and good manners.

Ischgl has a lively party atmosphere which is great if you are travelling as a couple or in a group. We enjoyed Hotel Elizabeth during the early afternoon and the champagne bar between 18:00 and 20:00.

We might have been their first South African guests but Bertram, Maria, Anna and the team had no problem communicating with us. Thank you for a great stay!

Room Tip: Room 36 is a modern room with a good view if you do not mind some stairs.

Before I booked Arnika I read in these reviews and somewhere there is a comment that the hotel belies its official 3 star rating, and that comment is spot on. Great welcome, excellent service, very clean, and well positioned for lifts and the village centre. Food way beyond expectation. Unfortunate that one can only book a full week in high season but that seems standard for Ischgl, and price is somewhat high but again to be expected at this time of year. One note of warning, wandering close to the bar when Bertram's in charge can be dangerous!

My fourth week is three seasons at the Arnika. The hospitality you get from Bertram, Anna, Maria and the rest of the team is outstanding. Bertram even tests his new drinks out on you - such as "flying cow", a jaegerbomb made with milk !!!!

Food is top drawer, as ever! Best rooms brilliant, older rooms perfectly ok.Location is great, as it's central yet in a quiet spot, only 3 minutes to either the Fimba or Pardatschgrat bahn and the best apres ski bars.

We love this place so much we are back in March for another week of Ischgl madness - relax if you can !!! Have also booked for next January

Haben du Ischgl uberlebt??

Room Tip: Family room has two bathrooms and two bedrooms and great value.

Arnika has everything you could want in wintersports holiday accomodation. It is a fantastic hotel, run by the most wonderful family and staff. It was a privilege to get to know Maria, Bertram, Anna, Stefan, Tatiana and spend a week in their world.

- Amazing location - quiet yet central and a few minutes walk to all the main lifts and centre of town.
- Clean, comfortable rooms with plenty of hanging and drying space
- Food as good or better than any top class restaurant - Stefan the chef is a true master and every single dish was prepared to perfection. Breakfasts, snacks, dinners and deserts; everything was delicious.
- The service was 5*, always with a smile and a happy disposition. Nothing was too much trouble for the Aloys family to sort out for us.

If you visit Ischgl, and don't manage to get a room at Arnika, then you are missing out!

This is probably not the cheapest of places where you can stay in Ischgl but also not the most expensive. Its right in the middle. But what a friendly staff and owners! They really make you feel
Welcome and will help you out with whatever question you have. I almost forgot how this feels. ...... The food is delicious and served in a cosy restaurant with great choice of lovely wines.
The hotel is close (150m?) from the entrance of the tunnel which bringa you to the start of the slopes and you can walk into the lively village from the hotel's doorstep. Its quiet in the hotel , so night rest is also assured.
The hotel has a medium to small sized Spa - one turkish, one swedish and one infrared cabin , but very clean and we did not need much more .
I can fully recommend this place!

Stayed here mid-December 2012 for an early season ski trip. All the staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and the food was plentiful. We stayed half board, which was excellent value, and the hotel was even happy to let a friend of mine staying at a different hotel join us for dinner each evening for a reasonable cost. Location is good - close to the Fimba Bahn lift, so not too far to carry your skis. You can even ski back to within 150 metres or so.
Great value for money, as the cost was much lower than many others for the same period.
