Before I booked Arnika I read in these reviews and somewhere there is a comment that the hotel belies its official 3 star rating, and that comment is spot on. Great welcome, excellent service, very clean, and well positioned for lifts and the village centre. Food way beyond expectation. Unfortunate that one can only book a full week in high season but that seems standard for Ischgl, and price is somewhat high but again to be expected at this time of year. One note of warning, wandering close to the bar when Bertram's in charge can be dangerous!

My fourth week is three seasons at the Arnika. The hospitality you get from Bertram, Anna, Maria and the rest of the team is outstanding. Bertram even tests his new drinks out on you - such as "flying cow", a jaegerbomb made with milk !!!!

Food is top drawer, as ever! Best rooms brilliant, older rooms perfectly ok.Location is great, as it's central yet in a quiet spot, only 3 minutes to either the Fimba or Pardatschgrat bahn and the best apres ski bars.

We love this place so much we are back in March for another week of Ischgl madness - relax if you can !!! Have also booked for next January

Haben du Ischgl uberlebt??

Room Tip: Family room has two bathrooms and two bedrooms and great value.

Arnika has everything you could want in wintersports holiday accomodation. It is a fantastic hotel, run by the most wonderful family and staff. It was a privilege to get to know Maria, Bertram, Anna, Stefan, Tatiana and spend a week in their world.

- Amazing location - quiet yet central and a few minutes walk to all the main lifts and centre of town.
- Clean, comfortable rooms with plenty of hanging and drying space
- Food as good or better than any top class restaurant - Stefan the chef is a true master and every single dish was prepared to perfection. Breakfasts, snacks, dinners and deserts; everything was delicious.
- The service was 5*, always with a smile and a happy disposition. Nothing was too much trouble for the Aloys family to sort out for us.

If you visit Ischgl, and don't manage to get a room at Arnika, then you are missing out!

This is probably not the cheapest of places where you can stay in Ischgl but also not the most expensive. Its right in the middle. But what a friendly staff and owners! They really make you feel
Welcome and will help you out with whatever question you have. I almost forgot how this feels. ...... The food is delicious and served in a cosy restaurant with great choice of lovely wines.
The hotel is close (150m?) from the entrance of the tunnel which bringa you to the start of the slopes and you can walk into the lively village from the hotel's doorstep. Its quiet in the hotel , so night rest is also assured.
The hotel has a medium to small sized Spa - one turkish, one swedish and one infrared cabin , but very clean and we did not need much more .
I can fully recommend this place!

Stayed here mid-December 2012 for an early season ski trip. All the staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and the food was plentiful. We stayed half board, which was excellent value, and the hotel was even happy to let a friend of mine staying at a different hotel join us for dinner each evening for a reasonable cost. Location is good - close to the Fimba Bahn lift, so not too far to carry your skis. You can even ski back to within 150 metres or so.
Great value for money, as the cost was much lower than many others for the same period.

Our third trip to the Hotel Arnika in two seasons. We've stayed in many hotels in Ischgl, usually in the 4*/4*S category and this little gem more than holds it's own.

Service levels in Austria are consistently high and the Arnika is no exception. There are four generations of the Aloys family living here, and it is a genuinely family run business, with the third generation brother and sister team of Bertrum, Maria and their respective spouses doing the spade work and provided the perfect blend of conviviality and professionalism.

The food is a revelation. Breakfast is a full hot and cold buffet complimented by fresh fruit and cereals, piping hot coffee, tea etc. The afternoon snack is simply delicious ranging from goulash soup to delightful cakes and strudels, all of which are complimentary. Dinner is a borderline fine dining experience that is better than many a 4* establishments and is a testament to the culinary skills and craft of the head chef, all complimented by a very good value wine list; the pinot noir is especially recommended at 29 euros.

The bar, together with the front and back stubes are a very convivial, but beware Bertrum and his liberal dispensing of the schnapps, that rarely find their way to your drinks bill! It's great but you can feel like the proverbial in the morning!!

Rooms are spacious and spotless. A number have been comprehensively refurbished and provide a modern yet traditional feel, whilst others are slightly old fashioned but perfectly adequate.

The hotel also has a small wellness centre plus the usual heated ski room.

The location couldn't be better. It's in the old part of the town, away from the traffic and late night noise of revellers rolling up Dorf Strasse, yet only 3 minutes from the Pardatschgrat and Fimba lifts and the apres ski madness of both ends of town.

All in all the Arnika is ideal for groups, families and couples. Only the most discerning will want for more. We like it so much, we've already booked for next year.

Room Tip: Family rooms are two interconnecting rooms with two bathrooms and great value.

We have just returned from a 6-night stay at the Hotel Arnika in Ischgl.

First of all Ischgl offers some excellent skiing, especially for intermediate/expert, also with substantial off-piste.

The hotel is located in the centre of the town, 3-4 minutes walk away from the ski-lifts and equally close to the apres-ski in east Ischgl. If you enjoy a night-out in a club, Pacha is literally round the corner.

The hotel staff are extremely friendly and in a genuine manner. They were always ready to share information and make our stay perfect.

The rooms: clean and traditional in design, we took a larger family room that had a more contemporary look, it was spacious and had two toilets, three sink areas and a bath/shower. The rooms are also very quiet at night. Not quite top design, but a pleasant room nonetheless.

Breakfast was very good, with eggs, bacon, sausages, smoked salmon, cereals, fresh-fruit, etc. it was also great to find an afternoon snack on our return - pastries, traditional sausage with sweet honey mustard or home-made soups or cold cuts of ham and cheese.

Dinner was exceptionally good. Really. I was expecting good traditional food, yet I found a cuisine that showed craft, inventiveness and imagination, specializing in local dishes, but also fusion with international cuisine. The gourmet dinner was noteworthy. I am a fussy and experienced foodie, and dinner was always a wonderful experience - except for one night where we had a hot-buffet, that was still OK, but not the same standard.

I would STRONGLY recommend this family-run hotel to families, couples or even a bunch of guys (we were the latter) looking for a friendly quiet hotel with great food and close to the ski-lifts and apres-ski.
