Small, friendly hotel in a pedestrianised area of the town. Don’t drag your case up the to first floor reception. There is an entrance to the lift at the back.
Part of a Neilson ski holiday package so we were half board although we were free to use the main bistro and bar downstairs. Rooms were basic but clean and quiet and had everything we needed. Breakfast was copious. Dinner was limited but you could take it or leave it.
Excellently located in the town and not too far to the ski lift.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Neilson reps were helpful.

We visited for a 7 night ski holiday, our first in Austria, and found the hotel to be well above the usual French standard hotel that we had been used to. Arrival is a little tricky as the Traube is situated in a pedestrian area meaning a short drag of the luggage and a flight of stairs to scale on the way to the first floor reception. The rear door gives easier access but is difficult to find first time. Positives are the lift, never had to wait, the reception - excellent service, and the WiFi - as it should be. The rooms seemed to have undergone a makeover with a slight boutique feel. Adequate space with good bathroom and comfy beds. The TV was really helpful with 4 of the channels showing ski webcams meaning it's possible to check out the pistes whilst lying in bed. Also very warm rooms. Breakfast is excellent with every taste catered for. Dinner was less comprehensive but adequate, a good meal after a day on the snow. We never seemed to be offered a drinks or wine menu though, just having water most nights. Staff throughout the hotel are helpful, competent and pleasant, the boot room, whilst small, is great for drying and warming kit. The Traube is in a good location for bars and shops, the gondola and bus station is an 8 minute walk up a gentle incline with one road to cross. Not too hard in ski boots. Noise at night was a bit of a problem with the occasional drunk shouting but the windows were soundproof. Railway station is a short 5 minute walk with direct trains to Salzburg centre. (27 Euro return midweek). The hotel ground floor accommodates a brasserie and separate bar which are popular and attractive. The lake is a short stroll down the road taking minutes. All in all a good place to get a flavour of Austria.

Room Tip: Some top floor rooms have a view over the lake.

Excellent friendly helpful staff. Very central. Super convenient. Lovely sauna. Recently refurbished in simple clean style. Housekeeping staff even found me a small bucket for hand washing. I will definitely stay again.

There was 3 of us sharing this room.
The hotel had setup the Sofa bed to cater for 3 people sleeping. But 2 single beds are attached together and uable to seperate them. A bit to close for comfort sleeping next ti a mate. There was only 1 wardribe so 2 of us had to live out of or suitcases for the week. Floordrobe style.
The room was cleaned every day. But they didn't remove the litter which we had place to a side as there was no bin.
We had breakfast. But some mornings the girl in charge of breakfast was reluctant to cook more eggs, bacon and sausage. Wasn't enough ti go around. This was before 9 and the breakfast was served until 10.

I have just returned from a week's skiing , staying at this hotel as a single. In Feb 2017 I stayed here with my teenage daughter. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nicely decorated, kept very clean and are very comfortable. The food once again was lovely every day, especially the rib eye steak on new years eve. The location of this hotel is central of the town, close to everything. Lifts are about 5-10 min walk . I met a number of other guests staying at other hotels that were not as satisfied with their food as I was . I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
