This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel in Zell Am See and unfortunately a lot has changed in the last four years. The rooms are somewhat dated and we had problems getting the room we reserved (we wanted a room with a shower not bath) and the Reception staff were somewhat put out when we asked to be moved - it took a lot of effort on our part to get them to help - this is not what I expect from a 4 star hotel.
The food is still very good, generally buffet style all you can eat and also free drinks (beer, wine, softies, etc.) from 1100 to 2300 each day which is a nice touch and saves quite a bit of cash.
The location of the hotel may put some people off as well as it is on top of a very steep hill, so unless you're feeling very fit or have a car (like me) then location is poor.
The Schwebebahn is now only an average hotel, which is a shame as the last time I stayed it couldn't be faulted. Dropping from excellent to average in four years is not good! I will not be returned to this hotel.More
