This was a first in many ways for me. Never been skiing before and stayed in such luxury. The staff from the very first point of contact are warm and friendly. The facilities were brillant from having a outside heated pool, sauna area and individual heated lockers. The bus stop for the free bus to go up the mountain is just across the road.

Stayed from 14-21st February (mid term break holidays) .
This was our 4th time to stay in the Stadt Wien, it was just as good as previous occasions. We are family of 5 with kids aged 17, 15 & 11. The hotel had been renovated since our last trip, beautifully done up with great areas for relaxing around the main reception / bar / restaurant. We brought 2 other families with us, who loved it also. Our rooms were at the back overlooking the pool and were not the renovated rooms. We found them to be comfortable and quiet at night but wifi was not great. However wifi in reception areas was perfect.

Klaus & Christine greeted us warmly on our arrival and looked after everything for us so well, even booking a physio appointment for me when I hurt my ankle.
We loved the food, from the huge array at breakfast to the afternoon snack with delicious soups or noodles & cakes to the evening meals with delicious salads every evening. The main courses were probably not as good as last time but everything else was. (though the butter fish on the last evening was to die for).
Klaus helped us choose excellent Austrian wines each evening which were all of a very high standard.
We hired skis from Ski Zell who have a space in the basement of the hotel, which meant no lugging skis back on the last day. The pool area was great for the kids, and we loved the salt grotto & sauna each evening.
The fact that this hotel is family run makes it so much nicer and Klaus & Christine really do make sure you have a great holiday. I would make a couple of suggestions - a box of tissues in the room would be good and better quality toilet roll! There are no toiletries in the room except soap on a dispenser on the wall so do come prepared with your own, also bring slippers for the sauna.

Room Tip: We had rooms 502 & 503, which were at the back overlooking the pool, they were nice & quiet at night but quite basic in comparison to the newly renovated rooms on the 1st floor.

Stayed here 10-17 January and this hotel is definitely the best we've ever stayed in on a ski holiday. Decor is beautiful, modern while maintaining Austrian charm. Our room was perfect; large, warm, modern bathroom, plenty of storage, very quiet. Everything is spotlessly clean. Food was delicious, loads to choose from, no repetition, plenty to choose from at breakfast. There is a nice bar area for a drink in the evening.

I had a treatment in the spa with Ana-Maria as I had a horrible sinus infection and this was great, sorted me out to enjoy the rest of my holiday

The location is great, 5 mins walk downhill to city express gondola. If the snow is good enough on lower slopes you could ski to the door. 10-15 mins walk into town centre.

Only negative comment I have is the receptionist was a little rude, not sure if she didn't understand us but asked for help in locating a pharmacy and she was not forthcoming.

It is difficult to find any fault. The owners work hard to ensure you are happy and any issue resolved. The en-suite room was modern and spacious, the restaurant and communal areas comfortable and cosy, the food was great, a good mix between buffet courses and served mains. Everything worked and you can set your watch by the bus taking you up to the lifts, bus stop opposite hotel. Very good ski/boot room (heated) and we could ski back to the hotel door everyday. I would imagine any competent blue run skier could.
The town centre is a short walk away and everything is pretty convenient.
A lovely hotel with warm and friendly staff, fabulous.

We are just back from a weeks' stay at the Stadt Wien. We (2 adults & 2 children) stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for our needs. It was modern, spacious, clean, warm and very comfortable. The food was delicious and plentiful. There was lots of choice which suited the kids. The outdoor pool was great fun and the leisure facilities were great. The staff were very friendly and the service was wonderful. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel and would love to stay there again.
