Just returned from our annual holiday at the Tirolerhof. Wonderful food, service and rooms. Had great spa treatments. Nothing to much trouble. Each year feels like coming home. Already looking at next year. The hotel has so many guests who return each year its amazing that once you ve been you want to go back. Its a truly lovely hotel run by people who really care.

Just returned from our second trip to this hotel; the last was 10years ago and everything was just as good as we remembered then! A very clean, good sized double standard room was all we needed. The extra towels and bathrobes were a thoughtful extra enabling us to enjoy the incredible pool and aqua area so easily. Our hour's rest in the relaxation room after the pool and saunas was the perfect recovery after a day out before changing and enjoying a superb evening meal served in a very relaxing manner. We were there to enjoy a winter holiday as non-skiers and the hotel is well placed to take the bus up to the cable cars and then enjoy walking on the mountain with stunning views. We joined the hotel's guided walk with snow shoes and were so grateful to Wolfgang for encouraging us to have a go! A super day out. The courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness of all the hotel staff is commendable. The lobby, restaurant areas and hallways were delightfully furnished and so well kept. We enjoyed the variety of the buffet breakfast, the choice of evening meals and the fact we had the same table and waiter each meal time which helped create a friendly and personal service each meal. Our children were also very impressed with the response when they ordered by phone, champagne for us to enjoy on our first evening there! A truly superb hotel and we look forward to our next visit, hopefully when they have more snow! Zell am See is a super small resort with easy rail links to Salzburg and good bus routes.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room on the second floor overlooking the street but were not aware of any noise from...

Just returned from this hotel. In general we would have to say it is very good, incredibly clean. We had a top floor (5th floor) suite which was great size and had a balcony, bath shower etc.

Very warm welcome. The bar prices are very reasonable for a top hotel. The Spa and pool are lovely and very relaxing. Would definitely recommend having a massage or tow, great service and value.

Just a few quirks: to access the 5th floor we had to use two lifts as the hotel has been added to and then stairs to the room, its not the most difficult route but a little confusing and if you struggle with stairs avoid the 5th floor. The restaurant is nice but there is a slant on the food which may not suite all, you rarely get what you expect from the menu. Avoid the fondu as it is an extra cost and not the best. Having to pay for water with the evening meal is a little mean (tap water not an option), likewise tea/coffee with the afternoon tea comes at a cost. This was unusual for an Austrian hotel of this calibre. You can get fresh orange at breakfast but only if you ask for it!!!

The staff should refrain from starting to clear up at breakfast until all have finished, wandering round with dustpan and brushes cleaning adjacent tables is not nice to sit through. In addition the staff are sometimes elusive at breakfast when you want a tea/coffee.

Overall though very impressed with the hotel and would return.

Room Tip: 5th floors suites recommended but be mindful there are stairs involved.

Just returned from a weeks holiday and so nice to say a hotel was beyond expectation. Everything was clean, stylish and comfortable. The pool and the spa area was real bonus and treatments were great - fabulous massage by Ivana! Food was marvellous and didn't find any unpleasant combinations. In fact, considering the size of the hotel and number of people they cater for, it was restaurant quality.
The only niggle I had was the bed was very hard and the rooms were so hot we had to sleep with the French doors open all night but then the weather is unseasonably hot at present. This meant no snow in the village itself but up the mountain the pistes were well maintained and all but one run was open although lower pistes by the end of the day were slushy.
Took notice of advice and asked for room on highest floor which meant noise from the stream didn't bother us.

Room Tip: Choose suite or deluxe room on high floor for reduced noise from water in steam and best views.

The hotel is a combination of traditional Austrian style with a bit of a modern slant, and it works. We found the staff to be helpful and willing to please, after the second day they knew exactly what we drank with our evening meal and would have it on the table before we even asked, details like that make a huge difference.

The food was really, really good, and on the one evening when I wasn't that enamoured with the menu they were quite happy to bring me something else. Our room overlooked the delivery area so it was a little noisy early in the morning when deliveries were taking place, it didn't bother us too much but I would ask for a room a bit further away next time.

The only (slightly) negative aspect was regarding the skiing school. We haven't skied before and mentioned that when we booked lessons through the hotel, they recommended Ski Schule Zell Am See which we used and paid extra for a private lesson initially because we thought it would be beneficial. Unfortunately the instructor, while a very nice guy, took us to a really inappropriate spot to learn, across the start of a run with people and small kids crossing our path constantly, as learners with little control we found it quite a problem. That's not the hotel's fault of course but they might like to consider it when recommending a ski school to inexperienced skiers.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and enjoyed every minute, I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room a bit away form the delivery entrance.

One of the best hotels we have been to in Austria. Things got off to a good start with a glass of prosecco and our luggage taken to our room. We had a de-luxe double which was very well appointed with a large bathroom with separate corner shower and lovely toiletries. A French balcony was a very pleasant addition. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the evening meal had plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble with regard to my husbands dietary problems. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was great. I enjoyed a Swim and jacuzzi most days. It's only a few minutes walk from the Main Street in the village and the lake. Ideal for non skiers like us. We would love to go back.
