Our plan was to make our way to the summit but we stopped after one lift and enjoyed a meal at a beautiful mountain restaurant. When we moved to the next lift we were declined because the weather was closing in on the summit. We watched the storm clouds gather before catching the lift down. Next day we met friends who had been on the summit and had to walk all the way back.
Three days later we went all the way to the summit by a different route, in brilliant sunshine. The views are amazing and the top station catering is highly enjoyable.
Many walks start from here and it is a terrific place for "people watching"
All on a Zell Card from the hotel

great snow not too crowded and the run down to Shuttdorf first thing in the morning is brilliant. Pinzgauer hut is a good place to eat off the beaten track and a skidoo with a rope attatched tows you back to the lifts.

We did enjoy skiing here but found that many of the runs were quite short so we spent a lot of time on lifts. However the stunning mountain and lake view definitely made up for that. Skiing is a bit limited for a week's holiday but a couple of days at Kaprun bridges the gap OK.

Great access direct from Zell am See. Lovely tree lined runs. If you get the first lift up at 8:30am it feels like you have your own mountain with all the runs pisted just for you. The run down to Schuttdorf is great 1st thing in the morning - it faces into the early sun and will have been beautifully pisted overnight. It's so much nicer then than last run of the day when it can be slushy bumps, scraped patches and crowds of tired skiers

A good lift system without any queues in March. The skiing lower down was not as great as it was nearing the end of the season, however at the top it was lovely. If you do go here you must visit Schnapshans at the top of the mountain for lunch, the chicken is beautiful but the atmosphere is even better!
