we spent 5 nights at this excellent hotel. Everything was first class: the rooms, the spa, the food, the staff, even the weather... the help for our daily excursions could not have been better. The hotel was fantastic for just relaxing or for getting to know the areas surrounding Zell am See.

The Hotel Salzurgerhof is quite exquisite. The design and ambience is very "Austrian" with chalet style balconies, a profusion of geraniums and roses and staff in National costumes. However the service, food and outstanding spa are very 21st century.

The hotel is run with care and a very personal touch by the Holleis family, who make everyone feel like very special guests. The service is efficient and friendly.

The rooms are all spacious, the common areas roomy and comfortable and the grounds are just lovely. The outdoor infinity pool is kept at a comfortable 28 degrees and has wonderful views of snow capped mountains. There are plenty of sun-beds by the pool and in the gardens around a natural pool which is very special for swimming in.

The little town of Zell am See is beautifully positioned on the lake, there are plenty of shops and restaurants. It is ideally positioned for walks and excursions.

This is a truly first class hotel and I can't recommend it too highly, it's definitely on our "must return list". We booked through a UK travel company and for full board felt we really had value for money.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have views of the lake but also noise from the trains, it is quiet at the rea...

We stayed here 27 years ago and loved it then. We came again last week and loved it even more. It is still run by the same family and the personal touch makes this such a special place.
We loved the food, the staff, the superb facilities, the ambiance, and the attention to detail.
The gardens and all outdoor areas are immaculately kept - it does the heart good to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the area.
Cleanliness is so important in all areas. Our junior suite we loved and was kept to perfection. The dining staff were so well trained, polite, pleasant, and unobtrusive.Their Austrian outfits were so pretty.
Breakfast buffet was superb as was all food. High quality throughout and tastefully served with foams ,edible flowers etc. to tickle your taste buds!
A very happy week and we must go back very soon Thank you to the Holleis family for such a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite on the 2nd floor and could not fault it. Superb wardrobe space, A very big bal...

WOW, from arrival (early) with a welcome glass of bubbly and sit by the water's edge in the sun - everything was relaxing and just what we wanted from our 5 day trip. Our 2 rooms were spotless and decorated luxuriously whilst mantaining the mod cons we all expect.
Food - what can I say, everything you could want, all day long, we could have lived on the cheese & breads. Extremely well presented and of a vast variety, the wine we ordered one night was out of stock and we were offered another of much higher quality for the same price - it was one of the best reds I have ever tasted. Staff were friendly and pampered to your every whim but kept there distance when needed - entertainment each night was subtle and just added perfectly to summer evenings dinner.
We took advantage of the free bikes to ride around the lake and we had treatments and we used the spa/pool facilities - overall we relaxed and were pampered.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are good.

Definitely one of the most beautiful and relaxing places we have stayed in. We went off season so it was pretty quiet and the weather was not great. But if all you want to do is relax then if doesn't matter as there us so much within the hotel. Also, we virtually had the pools and jacuzzis to ourselves. Oh, and the food - Michelin star quality without a doubt. Worth going for a culinary treat alone! Would love to go back so we will have to get saving!

The Salzburgerhof is a delightful, cosy, well run hotel. Rooms are beautifully decorated with balconies & pretty views. Food, both at breakfast & at the gourmet dinner is excellent with charming service. Great bar & lounge spaces too. Leisure facilities are fabulous. The grounds are superb, particularly so in summer as we have had the pleasure of staying here in the warmer months too. Well located. Good all round.
