Very good location with good food. Direct at the slopes so car can stay closed for the vacation. Stayed here 2 times in summer and now 3rd time in winter. Will come back next winter. Service is very friendly & quick. Relation of price & service is really good.

Good family hotel for a reasonable price. We liked the place. Recommendable for those who travels with a car, since hotel is on the mountain, over the town, unless you can go down by black slope, which is just nearby. The hotel has a small bus, however you can use it free only to go to and from skiing, in other time charge as a taxi. The skischool and Schmitten station is just down. Amazing view if you are lucky to get a room with a view to the town.

We stayed for three days with our son and our dog. The service was very good and very friendly. The 3/4 pension is an excellent deal for families and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. The hotel is situate above Zell am See and the views are stunning

The hotel is in an impressive location on the side of the mountain as stated in the brochure ski in/out for intermediate/ advanced skiiers. The hotel has a small 4x4 to get less brave/able/kids down to main lifts in the morning and back at 4ish daily. It has amazing views. 25 min walk into town, a bit tricky on old knees and 55 min walk back up the lane..best done in 4x4 taxi (be prepared to pay up to £20 from town). Staff were fab in the hotel and took a sociable approach to working with people. The food was faultless, everything you could want for breakfast, great soups, salads and cake in the afternoons and dinner was always good. The hotel is decorated with hunting trophies and has a great atmosphere with the bar having a gentle buzz from apres ski into the evening. We enjoyed the bar too much and didn't get round to using the 'wellness' facilities... being a shy Brit I was a bit put off by previous reviews about nudity. Given the distance from town we only went into Zell a couple of times but Crazy Daisy, Diele were lively and a couple of bars near the train station were very traditional and less pricey (also close to taxi rank). The bedroom was adequate and clean, it lacked some creature comforts such as mirror or bedside lamp or light switch but the bed and bedding was quality, views from balcony were awsome and we were only in it to sleep. The ski hire was to a better standard for the price than France and lesson options were ideal. Lift system v. impressive, no queues, heated seats and covers on chairs etc. only 3 closed during white out/wind. Very considerate attitude on the mountain: as a boarder amongst skiiers I had the best experience ever. No arrogant queue pushing, the piste not owned by skiiers or terrorised by boarding piste bullies, generally a really good vibe and a welcome tolerance of the 2 disciplines which I have never experienced in all of the French resorts I have snowboarded in. We will definately go again and recommend to anyone who wants to get 'on it' without hassle.

We stayed at the Jaga Alm for 1 weeks skiing in Jan 08. The hotel is situated on a black run (15) but don't let this put you off if you are (like me) only just venturing onto black runs as it is more like a red. The slope gets very slushy in the afternoons if the sun has been shining and then can be icy in the mornings. The skiing was good with the best snow at the top, plenty for everyone. The hotel was clean and quite modern although if you have strong views about hunting this may not be the place for you as there are stuffed animals and deer skulls all over the place! (apparently Jaga Alm means hunter). The room we had was small but the view was spectacular from the (shared) bacony. You can see the lake and village as well as the mountains which is very pretty. There was a TV in the room but only MTV was in English some of the time. There was a information folder in the room but it was 'hidden' in a drawer and we only found it on the last day so have a hunt around! A safe also turned up in the room on the last day. There was a problem with the water pump and the water went off twice during the week but they did their best to sort it. The breakfast offered a wide variety and you could cook your own eggs which was fun. There was apres ski snacks served from the same place as the breakfast which again we only found on the last day as we were looking for crisps on the bar when actually there was soup, salad and doughnuts! The evening meal was ok, you chose your meal at breakfast. There was only one option for veggies but they were very accommodating and would bring veg if you asked or second helpings! Drinks priced similar to England at the hotel and more pricey down in Zell. The hotel staff are friendly but speak limited English so brush up on your German. The sauna area is nice but we were the only Brits in swim gear everyone else was naked! Crystal rep only visits by appointment although did come up once. Make sure you have a 4x4 taxi number or Christian (manager) will give you a lift to and from town as normal taxis will not take you (we ended up walking). Crystal also gave us wrong bus times for our transfer back to the airport so double check if you travel with them as we missed the bus and the bus had to wait for us while Christian drove us to catch it up. Also Crystal says that the bus ride to Kaprun is 25 minutes, it took us over an hour then you have to get 2 gondolas to the skiing so make sure you allow plenty of time if you visit there. Most problems we experienced were due to Crytal misinforming us of things rather than the fault of the hotel.
