The most amazing place with kids! Everybody was very friendly, helpful, the location is superb for skiers! The food is beyond any expectation, we felt like being in a great restaurant all the time (even cocktails are better than in most cocktail bars).
Our son (3.5 y) enjoyed it very much and wants to pack his bags to go back again (we returned only yesterday).
We can't wait to go back - next winter for sure but this summer might be an option too.

Room Tip: Pinzgau suite is great for families with 1-2 kids

We stayed for 4 days in December with 3 children (2-7 YO) plus Dog. We had a 2 bedroom suite , with plenty of room and seperate seating area. The service was excellent, the whole layout was very child friendly with a delcious buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The whole hotel was full of children - so it is not the location for a romantic break. There was a great swimming pool (cold) with water shoot. There is additional small pool for babies. The creche looked packed and therefore we didnt bother using it. The ski slopes are a short drive away or you can ski from the hotel. Skiing was easy for beginners.
Staff went out of their way to help us and make our staff as enjoyable as possible.
Mrs was able to get to the spa for a massage and the sauna area was well equipped. We will definately be going back.

we travelled to ellmauhof in june 2010-more than a year past from our visit, the memories are fresh, excitement did not vanish, instead we can not wait to go again. this evening we started talking about next summer vacation plans and ellmauhof was the first word to hear from the kids. this hotel is an exmaple of a very RARE case when the reality exceeds your expectation. we selected if from internet by surfing through the photos, getting ourselves prepared to find hopefully the same level of amenities.
our travel was long, tiring, transit fllights, renting a car and the weather suddenly turned to a rain and low temperatures just before our departure. we travelled with another family and had in total 4 active kids aging 6-2 y.o. who did not speak german or english. so at some point we were literally worried about what is awaiting us at destination...
from the first second at the hotel all i could do is happily smile..
amazing! i never though i would visit the hotel that would make me want to return again..coz 1)i am a very picky person and 2)we have young kids who form their own opinion and are very demanding .
the hotel made it a joy for us, it has everything to entertain/accomodate the kids and let the parents relax: starting with attentive kindergarden that keeps to exciting daily program, plus modern and spacious indoor and 3 outdoor children playgrounds, separate indoor swim. pool for infants, and an aqua tube in a big indoor swim pool (for older kids) to enjoy+outdoor swim. pool, a farm with animals and horse staples, daily poni rides, indoor game room.
restaurant is amazing, the food is excellent and variety is extensive, it had food for babies, incl. plastic cutlery, aprons, highchairs for babies, ice cream was available every day.
talking about attention to a detail: bath robes and inflatable accessories are availble for kids at reception, children prams and carry ruckzaks to carry the kids for hiking all at no charge, children size toilets in public bathrooms, that are obviously used only by children.
hassle free self-laundry and ironing service.spa with amazing relaxation room under the roof 360degrees
rooms were nicely decorated, clean and spacious with marvelous views-my younger daughter could not get off the room's window to go for breakfast admiring horses on the slop of the hill with forest and a morning fog above them.
location of the hotel is excellent- the town is just a walk down from the hotel, with shops and other amenities, cable lifts from town take you to variety of forest trails depending on the level of difficulty. the nature is amazing. it should be paradise in winter for ski.
the hotel provides you with a activity program at breakfast for the next day and activities are simply exciting:hiking, trecking, cycling, walking. kids activities include: treasure hunt, visit to a farm, feeding animals, indian, hotel train trip, etc.
there would be more type of activities coming, but we had to leave.
i think i will just never stop..a week felt like 2 months of rest.. simply amazing..

Room Tip: any room will be good , we've checked different room types before to leave and all were in excellent condition, the view of course varies

Just got back from a week at the Ellmauhof with my wife, toddler and month-old baby. We found the hotel absolutely superb and would recommend it to any young family. Everything about the place is first class - the helpful staff who are multi-lingual, the excellent food which offers a vast choice at all mealtimes, the location, the leisure facilities and the rooms. You get a Jokercard when you stay - this allows free bus travel, cable-car travel and entrance to numerous local attractions, some of which are brilliant. The hotel has that rare quality of making you feel at home very quickly, for us within 24 hours i.e. people don't blink if you walk around in slippers etc. It is my opinion that you know when you've found an outstanding hotel when you feel sad leaving it. This statement certainly applies to The Ellmauhof and I believe we will return for another holiday here.

Room Tip: The Pingzau suites are great for up to 2 kids.

Thank you so much for this very kind feedback to our hotel. We are more than happy that you had a wonderful family holiday at the Ellmauhof and in Saalbach Hinterglemm. I passed your positive words through to our staff, who were all really happy to hear that.
Of course our doors are open for you, when you want to visit as next time at the Ellmauhof.
Our tip: It is also really beautiful in Winter time, when the toddlers of age 3 have their own ski school directly at the hotel and of course a lot to discover in the snowy mountains.

We are looking forward to welcoming you again soon,
Yours Family Schwabl and the whole Ellmauhof-Team

This was our second visit to this hotel for a skiing holiday, which is unusual for us. The hotel is still excellent and the food is good. We were impressed by the extension to the hotel for extra seating - it's been done beautifully. This is a great hotel if you have young children, however, now that our children are teenagers I think it is time to move on (it can be rather noisy at times!). Even though we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the welcome was not as good as last year. Welcome drinks were served on arrival last year and we were shown to our room, which was a great first impression of the hotel. However, this year there were no welcome drinks and we had a long wait to get into our room on arrival.

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. We are delighted that you visited us already for the second time, this shows that you are happy with our services and quality. Since being a children’s hotel you are right when you say that it can be quite noisy at times. We hold the view, however, that especially on holidays children should have the possibility to switch off and be themselves (which can be unquiet sometimes).
Regarding your welcome at your second stay, we are very sorry to hear that you were not as pleased as on your first stay at the Ellmauhof. No matter how busy it might be at arrival times, our guests should feel comfortable and relaxed. Especially on weekends at check- in and check-out times, the communication between receptionists and maintenance employees should run perfectly, so that the guests don’t have to wait that long to get into their rooms or that they know at least how long it takes until they can move in.
But nevertheless, we are happy that you had a good time all in all and we would be delighted, if you visited us again.
Our tip: We have a very nice teenagers animation program in summer for your older kids!

Best regards from the Ellmauhof,
Family Schwabl and the whole team
