Hotel Post is in the middle of Saalbach center. Ideal for hiking due to the 2 cable lifts nearby. Saalbach on itself is to us one of the most beautifull hiking and MTB places in that area.

The hotel itself : Very nice people and also friendly when at arival. Service is good.

Food : Breakfast is all you need with a small remark that the eggs are cold and the cheese is always empty and have to ask for more instead of they seeing it.
Lunch : You can make your own lunch at breakfast but if you stay at the hotel you can have a small lunch. Nothing special and mostly pasta.
Dinner : Adults : always 2 dishes to choose out but nothing special about it. Would likes to see more Austria food instead of chinees or other things. Starter and dessert are njammie. Soup also but main dish can be better and a big eater will need to go to the local restaurant to get more.
Dinner : Children : The little ones always have a seperate buffet. They should let the parents choose or to have the main meals or the buffet. The bad thing about the buffet is that it's always fat bakes things. The chef should be more thinking about children's health and be creative in it. This was for us compared with other hotels not good !

The room we had was very clean and nice...just perfect.

The wellness is also ok with in and outdoor pool ! With nice weather we had really awesome.

You can also use the bikes available at the hotel without extra cost. A plus point was also the joker card to have free access to cable lifts and saalbach's pool area and other stuff.

Room Tip: Ask at booking for a room with balcony.

We visited during summer period and did great hiking in the surrounding mountains. The hotel is great and we appreciated both rooms and service. What's special with Post is the outdoor pool. As Saalbach is a ski-area developed for winter tourism it is actually hard to find hotels with pool outside. It is great to get in to the water after a long day of walking. Value rating is based on summer fares - don't know what it's like in winter.

My husband and myself stayed at this GORGEOUS hotel from 28 Jan 2012 till 5 Feb. We have travelled all over the world and we have only praise for decor; rooms; location; food; staff and the owner Klaudia. Our friends stayed in a hotel up the road that had a better rating than the hotel Post - well; they were dissapointed and felt that we had done so much better. I needed to see a doctor and it was no problem at all for the owner to offer to take me there - it is great to be served by people who all look happy in their jobs. We excluded our dinners as we wanted to eat in different places; mistake made - i would reckomend that you DO NOT do this - the hotels dinner menu's and food is scrumptuous!!!!! As for the hotel's resident cat: Mr. Big - i love him - could have brough him back to South Africa

Having just spent a week at the Hotel Post, my friends and I all agree that we would use the same hotel again if and when we go back to Saalbach in the future. A consensus on this is praise indeed as we are all seasoned travellers both with and without skis in the luggage.

The place had all that we needed for a great week with friends, including a surprisingly palatable selection of homegrown Austrian wines in the cellar. Ask the sommelier for something you do not drink every day and he will delight you to the accompaniment of four, five and six courses throughout the week.

The breakfast (starting at 8 so you can be in the lift at 9) was a continued delight, and left very little to be desired. Dinners are set-course affairs with a choice presented at breakfast every morning between one of two (or three) main dishes .

The Dorfplatz address is as the name suggests in the middle of town and very central for all activities both before and after dark. The hotel itself has a modern feel throughout, even though it's separated into four different buildings from various periods. My friends and I all liked the old parts best, but the addition of the newer buildings have added a useful Sauna/Steamroom + in/outdoor pool area that in our view place the Post a cut above your average 4-star hotel. I should also mention the waterheated boot drying system in their ski storage room, which in our opinion is among the better we have found.

Staff is friendly, well trained, efficient and one of the better features of the hotel. From owner Claudia (who seem to be working 24/7) and onwards, they could not do enough to ensure our stay was a success.

Simply put, we will use the Hotel Post again when in Saalbach.

Room Tip: For the most authentic and rustic experience, ask for a room in the old building (also where the rec...

Chosen for our annual ski holiday, the first in many years to Austria, the Post Hotel is exceptional in all aspects. Our rooms, one standard and one junior suite were individually styled and beautifully clean. The breakfast buffet was widely varied and substantial, the lunches hearty and evening dinners exceptional, five courses with a choice of main course, one vegetarian. The service throughout was excellent and all of the staff helpful and friendly. Great ski room complete with heated boot driers, indoor/outdoor swimming pool - The Post Hotel is to be highly recommended.

We have skied in many places all over Europe and this hotel is one of the best we have encounted. The owner , Claudia, is so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff organised a beautiful birthday breakfast for one member of our party. The position of the hotel is excellent and is central to everything. Being in the heart of the village makes for a wonderful atmosphere and Saalbach has the most amazing après ski. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious and there was much to chose from.
