I visited this hotel with my wife and 3 kids. We spent 4 nights, I wish we stayed a bit longer. The kids had a great time. They had a very nice indoor and outdoor play area, an animal house , a farm which is s couple of ms away from the hotel. The kids swam, had a spa day , made soap ,tour the animals to and from the farm, milked cows, made butter and much more. We cycled with the kids around town. The food was amazing (5 or 6 course dinners) fantastic organic breakfast....

We will visit again for sure.

I have just returned from a week's ski holiday in Hinterglemm staying with my husband and 2 sons (14+11). We had a great time- this was the fifth trip to this resort but the first stay at this hotel. It is well located close to the Unterschwarzach cable car and you can ski back to within a few yards of the hotel. The location is perfect with the main lifts nearby and also close to shops for essential items. We stayed in room 404, which is 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and separate loo. The furniture was disappointing with no chest of drawers and not enough hooks to hang up damp ski gear. The furniture was also very ancient- the other rooms have clearly all been refurbished but not ours and it felt 3 star in the rooms not 4+. The food was excellent but service sometimes a little poor and we often had to wait too long for the food. The pool and spa areas were nice. If our room had been furnished better I would give a higher score but €700/night for a poorly furnished room was not very good value although we would go back for the location and it was also very friendly. Also the noise from the bar close to the hotel was bad- imagine 'Sex on Fire' in German playing for hours!

Room tip: Avoid room 404! The rooms overlooking the village facing west are better and get less disco noise.

We have just returned from our 5th stay in this wonderful place. High quality interior, good committed service, great food and fabulous location close to slopes make it the perfect place for relaxing winter holiday. Great spa and kids facilities.

I stayed one whole week in Unterschwarzachhof Hotel at the end of January 2010 with my husband, daughter (5) and son (6 1/2) for a ski holiday. We enjoyed the every minute we stayed there. The hotel belongs to Hasenauer Family. They were always around taking care of business, greeting customers, even their lovely small kids.

The staff, service, hotel facilities and the food was just over the expectations. Most of the food were from their organic farm. The room we had was a Family Land Suite overlooking the heated pool at the backyard and the childrens ski school. The house keeping facilities were so good enough that we had the second cleanest bath room there we ever had after one in Kempinski hotels. The spa area was very good too. The game room for small kids was big enough and there were two nannies, one English and one German spoken. The children were at their supervision and the children were having dinner all together around 6 pm, which was great for us to have some free happy hour time at the bar.
So I strongly recommend this hotel to families with young children even the young couples without children. We'll be going there this January 2011 one more time. I've heard that summer time in Hinterglemm is stunning too. You can find all necessary information hotels web site.
