By reading tripadvisor reviews I decided to book this hotel.
I contacted them to let them know I would have arrived late at night.
Unfortunately when I arrived (after midnight) the hotel entrance door was closed and all reception lights were off. I tried to ring the bell at the entrance, but no answer. I think they all go to sleep after midnight. This hotel appears to be rated 4-stars, but normally 4star hotels have a 24hrs staffed reception. This was not the case. Mayrhofen is a great ski location, with a Glacier working 365 days a year: unfortunately 24hrs service is very hard to find!!!

I've spent a week in this nice family owned hotel while snowboarding in Alps.
It's located near the lifts to Ahorn and Penken which are in 5 min walking distance. Gaby and Thomas (owners) made this place so comfort and friendly, that stayed once you hardly choose another hotel in future.
Rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. And the balcony lets you enjoy wonderful Alps view. As for meal, I've paid 10 euros per day for HB, and that was right decision! They serve very tasteful and delicious meal. And New Year Eve dinner was extraordinary.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to feel real Austria!

We stayed at the Hotel Andrea in July 2008. Our room was located at the back of the hotel (room type - Penkenblick) and was extremely spacious, well equipped and immaculately clean. The balcony benefits from the afternoon sun and is lovely spot to relax after a hard days hiking. Patio table, chairs, parasol and even sunloungers are provided. From the balcony there are great views of the surrounding mountains and whilst it does overlook the bottom station of the Ahorn cable car and car park, this is not a problem. The location is quiet and the cable car stops running at around 5pm, but to be fair even when it is running there is very little noise.

All of the staff in the hotel were delightful, very friendly and helpful. Thomas, the owner, gave us a few tips for good hikes and he even does a couple of guided hikes each week, weather permitting. We accompanied him on one, which was wonderful.

The food was also excellent, we had only booked bed and breakfast but as the weather was very mixed during our stay (usually raining in the evening) we ate at the hotel most evenings. We also noticed other people eating there on a regular basis eventhough they were not staying at the hotel - an excellent recommendation in itself.

A tip for getting around, if using the buses on a nice day they can be very busy and we had an occasion where we tried to get on a bus at the stop by the penken cable car and were refused as the bus was full, this does tend to mess up plans for the day as the next bus was not another hour - a waste of valuable hiking time. Thereafter, we walked an extra 5 mins to the bus stop at the railway station (which is the starting point) to ensure we could get on.

We would certainly stay at this hotel again if we return to Mayhofen.

I have been staying at The Hotel Andrea for several years now both in winter and summer. The hotel is excellent,it was uprgrade approx 3 years ago,it was really good before but with the upgrade it has become even better. The Installation of a lift in the hotel has helped the leg weary staying on the top floor.
The rooms are now very luxurious and even though I stayed in a singlr room,it was still very spacious. The Mount Everest restaurnat is renowned as one of the finest in Mayrhofen, the food is so delicious and plentiful, the half board option at a mere 10 Euros per night extra is absaloutely unbeatable value. For this you get a sumptious 3 course meal with a side salad.
Thomas and Gaby run an extreemly friendly family run hotel with service of a very high standard, you wont find the hotel listed with the british tour operators as they have so much repeat business and frankly the treatment the hotels get from the tour operators is nothing short of shameful!
Also,Thomas and Gaby have a mountain hut where Thomas organises monlit walks too and also toboganing. In summer Thomas usually does 3 excursions a week, walking or cycling to some of the Ziller valleys finest places.
Finally I would say that once you sat at the Hotel Andrea you want to keep coming back time and time again!

Stayed at the Hotel Andrea for a short skiing trip. Location is excellent, the Ahorn lift is 200 yds behind the hotel (but far enough to be no trouble from crowds, noise or traffic) and Penken lift is a 5 min walk away. When coming back off the mountain after a hard day location is everything ! The staff couldn't have been friendlier. Rooms not huge but spotlessly clean, bed very comfortable, duvet and pillows excellent. The sauna and steam room is a real oasis of calm. I ate half board (bargain at 10 Euros per night), breakfasts superb, fresh fruit, cooked eggs etc. Dinners fine although could be a little samey. Bar area small but friendly but plenty of other places nearby.

Overall an excellent friendly, family run hotel in an excellent location for either skiing or walking and touring the area.
