Hotel.....Excellant

Staff....Excellant
Food....Excellant
Location....Excellant albeit a 10 minute stroll to the Penkan and Ahorn lifts. Great for the tram to other ski areas (free on you lift pass)
All round....Can't fault it.

About time Austria banned smoking in public (indoor) places.

Room Tip: Room 118....Not the biggest but just one flight of stairs from the bar whilst most take the lift. I...

Just returned from a week at the Berghof with 12 friends and have to say that everything the positive reviewers say about this place and more was true. On arrival, the team on reception were extremely friendly and organised and our rooms were ready from around 11 am. The accommodation was comfortable and very clean; everything you need of a base to ski from. From the first evening, we discovered just how superb the food was going to be and how well we were going to be looked after by Atilla. The quality of the soup, starters and salads was superb and all our main courses were excellent. The hotel staff really came into their own when one of our friends had his boots taken from the boot room when we were looking forward to a final day of skiing. They immediately took it upon themselves to resolve the situation and sorted out a new hire pair so our friend could enjoy his last day. The Guys at the Green Room hire shop were also spot on and we would recommend them for hire and servicing. Some of our party had a few issues with how the skiing works across Mayrhofen and I would recommend that parties with beginners looking for good blue runs have a close look at the piste map. However, we loved this hotel and would return winter or summer in the future.

we went on a family trip to Mayrhofen this winter with a one year old son. It was our first time skiing and traveling with little one seemed quite challenging. Hotel Berghof exceeded our expectations: spacious, clean rooms, very friendly staff, good soundproofing, especially important when travelling with little kids. Our little one also loved a nice floor heating in all rooms. we'd love to go there again next year.

Just spent a very enjoyable week in Mayrhofen staying at the Berghof on a late deal from Neilson Holidays. I went snowboarding with an old buddy of mine and we had a great week exploring the extensive off-piste opportunities across Mayrhofen and connected resort such as Zell am Ziller and Kaltenbach. I've done alot of ski trips in Europe and I can say that this is one of the best areas I have been to in terms of range of terrain and modern efficient lift systems.

The Berghof was a great base, being pretty much in the centre of town. The staff were all very friendly and polite and I was impressed with the level of service generally. The room was modern and very clean with plenty of space for two people plus a lot of ski gear. One thing to note if you haven't been to Austria before is that when you book a twin bed, you actually get a double bed which contains two single mattresses and two separate single quilts - so pack your earplugs if your room mate snores!

The food was of a very high standard. Dinner was a buffer starter followed by a main (ordered each at breakfast time) then further buffet desert, cheese etc. Breakfast was also buffet with a chef freshly cooking eggs, bacon etc..

The Bergof has a very large lounge/bar and seemed to lay on live music for a couple of hours most nights. Bar staff were attentive and served quickly and efficiently. I think I can say that the only negative experience was that smoking is still allowed in the bar and there appears to be no air conditioning. Having had smoke-free bars at home for many years, I ended up with a cough which I am sure wasn't helped by spending time in the smokey bar.

Anyway, overall I thought this was a great hotel and we got a very good price from Neilson so I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Have just returned from a week at the Berghof with my two sons. A very pretty hotel with some lovely features, clean, well run, absolutely amazing friendly and helpful staff. We had a triple room on the first floor in the main building - good soundproofing. It would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the ability to see the mountain webcams on your TV. The lighting is very poor for reading in bed. The ski room has plenty of space and heated boot racks. There is a ski bus stop right outside the hotel and a sports shop/ski hire below - good for ski service. The restaurant and bar areas are lovely. You are allocated a table for the whole stay which is nice because your waiter really gets to know you . The presentation of the food was excellent but I do feel the menus were slightly repetitive and the breakfast hot options were very limited - a small moan though because the service and quality of everything was wonderful. We had a very early departure and the hotel provided each person with a little packed breakfast. My sons used the squash court and table tennis and sauna and reception free internet machine. Wherever you look in this hotel there are beautiful little individually furnished areas in differing styles and colourings - all very interesting and pretty.

Room Tip: a room in the main building is possibly more convenient and not facing the main road maybe for sleep...

Have just returned from a New Year ski trip staying at the Berghof Hotel, Mayrhofen. We thought our stay was special last year but our expectations were exceeded this year. The selection, presentation and quality of the food was even better than before. Just as well we were skiing to work off all the excess weight. We also had a beautiful room. The care and personal attention given by the family who own this hotel has to be commended and their warm greetings is a very special personal touch which makes you feel as if you really matter. Thanks again for another fantastic stay.

Warm welcome when we arrived late on a Crystal coach transfer; the hotel prepared plates of cold meats and cheese for dinner. The room was sizeable, clean and comfortable, but really hot. Unfortunately if we left the window open at night, there was too much noise from the street below to sleep. The Berghof is really conveniently located, the ski bus to the Penken lift is right outside, but even better the train station is a short walk away, and that means easy access to Zell, Hochfugen- Kaltenbach, and Innsbruck. The bar at the hotel is large and drinks were reasonable, but the room got very smoky. Dinner and breakfast buffets were extensive, but didn't really change. The staff were all very pleasant, and we were certainlu impressed by the duvet artistry displayed by the cleaner!
