We (husband, adult son and myself) traveled from the States to spend a week in Mayrhofen during the annual Almabrtieb which was on October 6 of this year. We are music lovers and also wanted to attend the Hooo Ruck Fest which was held at the Erlebnis Sennerei Zillertal. I had contacted the dairy early in my trip planning and had the good fortune to correspond with Kathrin in Marketing. She was so very helpful in booking our concert tickets and arranging for us to be able to pick up our tickets a few days before the actual concert.

We went to the dairy two days before the concert just to pick up our tickets and ended up spending several hours there. What a wonderfull modern facility. We had a really great lunch and enjoyed spending time in the very well supplied store. The display case for the selections of cheeses was amazing. So many choices. I had just been introduced to Graukase (a special cheese from the area) a few days before our visit to the dairy and was thrilled to see that Graukase soup was on the menu. Yes, I did order it and it was wonderful. Also in the in-house shop I was able to view what the cheese actually looked like and this was educational.

Two days later we returned for the Friday evening concert and it was a lovely evening having dinner at the dairy and then listening to the great music. An evening we will long remember.

The dairy should be on everyone's list to visit if you are in the area.
