“Hans ze butcher!!!!”
Reviewed April 13, 2014 via mobile

This was the perfect place to grab a quick quality bite of tasty meat, if I had found it sooner would have eaten here everyday because everything looked so delicious and not too pricey either! Nice quick service and a choice so large you will find yourself panicking on what to go for! Everything in here is very meat related so avoid if your a veggie (rip)

“So much meat, so little time”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

Located right in front of the gondola this place is known amongst some as "the piggery", both because pork is the main ingredient on the menu and because it's the place where you'd go to stuff your face. Lots of meat of every kind, freshly made, sold by weight and at prices that are below fast food. You can really eat all you want here. But I can't say I wasn't a bit disappointed - everything looked so appetizing but what I had (spare ribs and a speck sandwich) turned out to be somewhat bland. Another downside is the queue as it gets really crowded and there's hardly anywhere to sit. It's the kind of place you'd go to get a quick grab if you're on the run. Worth noting, they also sell a wide selection of meat by weight, pre-packed and even in gift sets. I think they make a great souvenir, and I got some sausage and bacon for the folk back home.

“Great Value for Money!”

Staff were a little cold with us but the food was great and really cheap. It gets very busy though as it's opposite the gondola.

“Meat, glorious, meat!”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

Liked everything. Disliked? Nothing! The legend that is the Gasser.

The Gasser is situated at the bottom of the Penken gondola-you'll smell it before you see it and it is a meat lovers paradise. They serve perfectly cooked hot meats by weight, in bread rolls or with fries or salads, racks of ribs and schnitzel, huge bowls of delicious gulashsuppe or knoedlsuppe. The best part is, they're all so darned cheap-a hot beef roll with mustard will set you back about 2.50 euro, a bucket of gulash only 3.60 euro and a beer to wash it down with for only a couple more.
They get mega busy so getting a seat can be a challenge but its so worth it. We found ourselves holding out for a late lunch when we came down off the mountain and ended up eating there almost every day. Its incredible value and the food is delicious and fresh. If you're staying self catered in the resort its also a great place to pick up a joint of cooked meat to make sandwiches or have for dinner with your chalet crew. Our personal favourite? That hot beef roll (heise braten mit brot if you're wondering) with a smear of their mustard.
