We have just returned from a week skiing and stayed for the first time in a pension, we were made so welcome as if they had known us for years, Marcus and Christina really go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, very clean and if you dont want formal dining which you get with 4/5 star hotels, this is perfect and we will not be wasting any more money on 4/5 star hotels. Breakfast is excellent, Christina makes good scrambled egg to order. Nice and quiet but not too far from the lift. Well worth storing skiis at the Crystal office. Thanks again Marcus & Christina, see you again in December.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1

Wonderful little hotel, with wonderful hospitality.Christina and Markus and Grandmother Eder could not do enough for our family to make our ski hols in Mayrhofen as perfect as it could be.The rooms were spacious cleaned every day with fresh towels, lots of hot water, comfortable beds and fab breakfasts.Christina recommended places to eat which were just off the main street good food and reasonably priced.Nothing at all was a bother to them,we had to call them one evening and they were round within 20 minutes to help fix the problem, eager and willing with smiling faces. We left our skis and boots down by the lift in the crystal office, although Christina and Markus have a good boot room at the hotel,we felt the 5 minute walk at the end of a tired day with boots/skis on was made simple, get off the lift walk 100 yards and at 15 euros/week/per person was worth it.Thank you Christine and Markus

We will keep this review short as everything said by the other reviews is true. The hotel is stunning, rooms are well appointed spacious and spotlessly clean. We had room one . Although the hotel is beautiful what makes this place so special are the hosts Christina & Marcus. Nothing is to much trouble, they recommended a place to eat and then gave us a lift, in the morning there is home baked bread and a different little treat to Start breakfast every day. We did not want to leave it felt so much like home. Do not hesitate to book this place it's fabulous.

Christina and Markus, thank you for making our Mayrhofen Christmas stay so welcoming, festive and comfortable! The house is beautifully finished, we loved the rainforest light panels in the hallway! Our room was excellent and our breakfasts were the best we had in a B and B. The secret recipe in the scrambled egg is something my husband now expects at home!!

We loved every minute of our stay and would not hesitate in highly recommending you to all our friends.

Awesome!

Room Tip: we had a large room, think it was room 2 at the top of the stairs, big room, bigger bathroom with ba...

Jan 26, 2013 ski trip for 1 week 2 adults with crystal ski.

i read the reviews regarding this B&B. We were not disappointed at all even though i had high expectations.

first and foremost is the hospitality from Christine and Marcus. they are lovely people who will go the extra mile to make your stay as good as it possibly can be.

Although we did not encounter any problems i feel 100% certain that they would help you out. They are obviously well respected within the local community which i think always helps.

the accommodation is modern comfortable and in my opinion very stylish.

we opted for half board as my last ski trip was to france and was very expensive.
As this is a b&b you take your meals at a nearby restaurant arranged by crystal and is not part of the Garni Eder
Although i can not fault the evening meals as it was all very nice i would not recommend half board as there was little choice and i just had that nagging feeling you would be better of as a normal customer as looking over at other tables it felt a little like you were settling for second best.

The great thing about Mayrhofen however is that it is very reasonable even on the mountain. you can get a pizza for 2 and two large bottles of beer for around 10 to 15 euros which on the mountains isn't bad
opposite the Peken lift appears to be a butchers/bar. inside you can get the best ribs / snacks etc and two beers for 10 euro again good value. this place along with the bar next door offers a good chance to chill after a good days skiing.

on that note for € 15 a week you can leave your boots ski and poles at the crystal office Next door to the Penken lift .i strongly recommend this

i would also recommend the Scotland yard Pub or scotties as its called. i had my reservations before i arrived as i avoid brits abroad pubs usually but this is different and had a really good atmosphere and once again without sounding like an alcoholic drinks and food are reasonable

all in all a can highly recommend not only Mayrhofen in general but you wont find a better place to stay than the Garni Eder or better hosts than Christine and Marcus

i don't write reviews on anything unless extraordinarily bad or extraordinarily good, and our stay here was extraordinarily good! i'll not bother going into detail, just read the other reviews, but as stated in my review title,"it doesn't get better than this!"
