Have just returned from a week's stay at Hotel Toni with our good friends. The hotel is very comfortable, our rooms were spacious and clean and we loved the spa facilities. The pool was invigorating but that wasn't a problem. We were not looking forward to the buffet but the food was very good and the staff in the restaurant and bar very friendly and helpful.

This hotel would be awarded 5 stars if it had free wi fi, robes in the room and all of the reception staff were a little more friendly and welcoming. A bath would have been lovely after a long day on the slopes. The hire shop close by provided an excellent, efficient and very competitive serve and we avoided using the one recommended by Crystal.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet.

We found the Hotel Toni to be a really nice, clean, spacious hotel. The buffet breakfast and evening meal were really good, lots to choose from. The swimming pool was on the cool side but the jacuzzi and sauna area were lovely. We were disappointed that the wifi wasn't free but there are bars and restaurants close by that do offer free wifi. Kaprun itself is a lovely town but it is quiet, not much après ski and as smoking is allowed in bars some places we're very smoky. We really enjoyed the snowboarding and as we are of mixed ability there was plenty for us to. We would definitely go back.

We stayed here for a week as part of a Crystal ski holiday. Plus points: GREAT food, large clean room, nice enough bar, easy to get buses to ski areas.

Negative points: rude reception staff, Wifi that isn't free (in a four star hotel - really?!) and very small ski room. Also would have quite liked a bath - and it wasn't like there wasn't enough space to fit one in!

I would definitely go back to the hotel as it was a bargain and the food really made it - although probably won't be going back to Kaprun as it was a bit quiet for me and could have done with a more challenging and larger ski area.

we stayed at the Hotel Toni from 19th -26th Jan this year. Found the hotel to be clean, tidy and comfortable. The swimming pool could have been a bit warmer after a days snow-boarding but still swimmable...... we didnt use the spa area.
I follow a gluten free diet and when I asked about options on the first evening the chef showed me everything I could eat - I was very surprised by how much choice I had !.. on the one night when no meat items were available for me I was offered a freshly cooked piece of fish. From the second morning onwards there was at least 4 slices of gluten free bread at my table and even on our last day due to an early collection, a gluten free pack-up was made for me. THANKYOU is was lovely to have so much choice. My hubby enjoyed his food as well.
Although I am still learning snowboarding there were plenty of slopes I could play on - some narrower than others - and even ended in soft snow a few times !! Staff were always helpful on the lifts and would slow down the chairs at the tops.
we had lovely weather and the view from top of the glacier was stunning and worth the time on the cable cars - boarding down first thing in the morning was a pleasure too.
the buses to the slopes were occasionally very busy but only once did we have to stand.
We would receommend this hotel and the area to all standards of boarders.
Our only minus was the reception staff sometimes were not very friendly - a smiling face works wonders

Recently stayed at Hotel Toni in Kaprun (Jan 2013) booked through Crystal. Thought the hotel was excellent value for money. It was modern and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed, a settee and chair and lots of wardrobe space. Our en-suite didn't have a bath but the shower was powerful and hot water was plentiful. There are hairdryers in the bathrooms so don't bother packing one. The buffet breakfast was excellent (cereals, fruit, cheeses, ham, cooked breakfasts, pastries, teas, coffee etc!) and the evening buffet was good too. We enjoyed spending time in the hotel bar (which is 'no smoking' unlike most of the bars in town). The hotel has a pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi etc - all very clean and no extra charge. Some people thought the pool was a bit on the chilly side, but its fine if you keep swimming! There is no swimwear allowed in sauna/steam room, but no-one objected to people using a towel to cover their modesty! Of course some Brits ignored the rules and just wore their swimwear anyway! It's worth packing a pair of flip flops as outdoor shoes not allowed in hotel spa. You can hire a bathrobe for the week for 10 euros. The hotel also has a well equipped fitness room. I found the hotel staff polite and helpful. There is plenty of skiing. Maiskogel (in Kaprun) has nice wide blues/reds - excellent for a first morning to get your legs in! We loved skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier (a 10 minute bus ride) and also skiied a day in Zell am See `(about 15 minutes on the bus from Jugendgastehaus stop to Areitbahn stop). Would also recommend getting the bus (heading towards the Glacier) to the Maiskogelbahn lift and having lunch at Maiskogelalm restaurant. On Thursday afternoon they have traditional music and a happy hour. The ski bus stops just outside the hotel (less than a minute's walk) and the hotel has a heated ski/boot room. The ski shop next door was able to service our skis overnight - I think it was 27 euros - and had them ready for 8:00am the next morning. Kaprun is a pretty village - a bit on the quiet side - but that suited us. Would definitely go back.

Just had a week at the Toni , hotel was great , food was wonderful . 5 min walk from town , 2 mins to bus stop for glacier and Zell um Zee . The Tauren spa was brill, about 35 euro for the day but worth every penny.
The only fly in the ointment were the reception staff who would benefit from a customer care course. The Wi-FI was down for 3 days , no apology or explanation even when giving me a refund on the last day, which I had to ask for. From their lack of local knowledge you would think they were from a different town.
Don't let them put you off , it really is a great hotel.
Don't forget a travel kettle and a couple of mugs.

Room Tip: get a room at the back , facing the river.
