Not only the big spa center that the hotel is part of and it's own spa with the suspended glass walled swimming pool are a blessing as a completion to the day at ski (snowboard in my case), but also the modern and very clean rooms, the atmosphere in the lobby, the piano player in the evenings, the variated and very tasty breakfast and everything in this hotel.

Using a discounted three hour pass through the hotel where I was staying in Kaprun, visited the spa early afternoon on a Thursday. The facility and all pools are immaculately clean. The public side of the spa requires bathing suits for all men, women and children. The 'pay extra to enter' side is clothing optional. The outdoor salt pool is a must for a true experience in relaxation. Floating on my back in the salt water, with my head partially submerged in the water, I could hear the quiet sounds of 'new age' music. A feeling of calm and serenity came over me & I remained relaxed floating there for over half an hour. Unless you are a Tauern Spa Hotel guest, bring a bathrobe and towel with you. For quiet relaxation on the public side, go late morning or early afternoon; by 3 pm a lot of families with children began to enter the public spa area. Tauern spa may be reached by town bus, car or on foot from one of the hotels in Kaprun.

Definitely one of the highlights of a short trip through the Alpes ... We only spent one night at the Tauern Spa, yet their special 'relax' offer made it possible to visit the Spa on both days while keeping the room until late afternoon before checking out. I asked the very friendly staff for some specials before arriving, and they made it all possible: A room with stunning views from the bed, a complementary child's bed and a surprise birthday cake for dessert -- all perfect. Also, the hotel's telephone system doubles as baby alarm in all areas of the hotel and Spa. Regarding the latter, the huge Tauern Spa is excellent, but make sure to visit the Hotel Spa, which offers a 'bird's nest' sauna with panorama window and complementary snacks and drinks. We'll definitely come back one day!

Room Tip: The 'panorama' option is worth the little extra money ... wonderful to wake up with a view of the alps!

We chose to stay at the Tauern Spa, Kaprun for the most unlikely reason: Because it was the listed as the preferred lodging for Ironman 70.3 Zell Am See. It proved to be a wise choice in hindsight, since we found the Spa, the wellness therapy offered and the overall service at this resport, to be top notch.
Every meal was a delightful experience and even at the the end of three days one did not feel the urge to dine elsewhere: a feeling which normally sets in after repeated dining experiences at the same eating place.
I did not get to use the Spa given the preoccupation with Ironman 70.3. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sessions at the Spa as would have been the case for the spouses and companions of the triathletes, staying at Tauern Spa.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the Apls

We booked last minute for a wellness stay for the period of 4 nights. Honestly, if you do only wellness then for us will be 3 nights more then enough. If you can make a combination with wintersport then is a longer stay also perfekt.
Wellness, rooms, restaurant, service all on max. Level. The hotel spa is the best option to stay because not to busy.
We live in Salzburg and i will highly recommend this wonderrfull Hotel-SPA. The balance between price- quality is perfekt.
Rooms very clean, very friendly staff (and then i mean ALL!) and restaurant service with also many knowledge to advise and helpfull. There is a rule in the highest level of hospitality that says: don't try to use the word "no". This Hotel/ spa try to show that. See you again.

Room Tip: Panorama rooms fantastic. If possible choose room on 2nd or 3th Room.
