We drove into Plains for a day of visiting the National historic sites. We saw a sign for the Visitor Center & headed there. If you are planning on visiting Plains, make sure to start at their Visitor Information Center. Friendly staff who know the area because they are from the area! We learned a lot - not just about the Carters, but the local peanut crop & the surrounding Georgia area. This center is located by a pond so there are ducks around. It's just a nice place to stop & take a break. The bathrooms are very clean. The building is inviting but the staff here is what makes it worth the stop.
