Great location within Fuschl, free parking, fantastic pool/sports centre which is free to guests. Food was lovely and plenty of it! It would benefit from tea/coffee facilities in rooms. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean. The balconies face either the lake or mountain. The discount card was useful and saved us a few quid on admission prices. The family room was unavailable to us so our boys (aged 13 and 9) were across the corridor from us. There are phones in the rooms so the nightmare at 3.30am was soon dealt with!

Room tip: If you have older children then they can give you rooms opposite each other if the family room is unavailable

Even though we arrived at the hotel during evening meal, the busiest time of the day for the staff, we were quickly given our room keys, shown our table for the week and the essential information was given to us. The evening meals were very good, including the excellent 'Gala menu' on the Sunday evening; each day there was a four-course meal with three options (chosen from on the previous evening) for the main course. Breakfast was a buffet each morning with lots of choices to suit all tastes.
The service from the staff was friendly and efficient. We were greeted on arrival for both breakfast and evening meal.
As a family of four, we had two rooms; one had a balcony with a lake side view and would have been big enough for three of us to sleep in and the other was a twin room. This was a perfect combination for us, as the room with the balcony was big enough for all four of us to sit and enjoy the view.
We were given cards for free entry to the Fuschl Seebad, which was only a few minutes walk from the hotel and was an excellent facility, which included an outdoor pool, ample grass areas, a slide into the lake, a floating platform on the lake as well as areas for football and beach volleyball. We also had Salzkammergut cards which gave us discounted entry to a number of places.
The hotel is a beautiful location and whilst there are a number of things to do in and around Fuschl, it is also ideally placed to explore further afield using the local bus service.

Room tip: If available, choose a lakeside room with a balcony; well worth the extra cost.

I was looking for last minute accommodation in Fuschl am See. Last free room was single bed, for a reasonable price ... perfect for me. Next time will stay here again and for longer. Will also try local restaurant "schnitzel". Also other meals ordered by other guests looks really tasty! Rich breakfast, helpful staff, free Wi-Fi & Parking before the house, hotel located 30 m from the lake. What more do you need?

We arrived after heavy snowfall and enjoyed a very warm welcome by the owners. They offered us a cup of tea and a most welcome "topfenstrudel" after our strenious journey on icy roades. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The hotel is very family-friendly and perfect for a short stay in Salzkammergut. The Lake Fuschl Promenade and the centre of the viallge are only a few paces away.

Room tip: Rooms to the lake are quieter

We returned to the hotel for our late summer holiday the week after the cycle race. As usual we were warmly welcomed in this small but friendly hotel and instantly made to feel welcome and at home.
The room was clean, pleasant and had a nice balcony with a view overlooking the lake as requested.
Throughout the stay everybody did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. Frau Minar was particularly concerned to ensure that my wife, who suffered from a bad chest infection for a few days, was comfortable and well looked after.
When the weather was good, which was most of the time, the scenery is fantastic, the walking superb and the swimming in the mountain surrounded lake a fantastic experience for someone from the flat lands of Essex!
Should one exhaust the local attractions, many others are available via the excellent public transport in the area. (We had a wonderful time in Halstatt a comfortable day trip reached by bus, train and ferry).
Wet weather can be challenging once one has explored what the village has to offer, however Salzburg, Bad Ischle (with the marvellously historic Kaiser Palace) and St Gilgan are easily reached by bus.
With reference to other revues, please note that the fully functional and effective reception is occasionally manned by Fr Minar's partner, and barman, Peter who's English is functional rather than fluent and who rightly refers all matters regarding bookings to Fr Minar.
We had a great time in the lovely village of Fuschl and enjoyed our time at the Steffanihof

Room tip: Balcony rooms are well worth the extra.
