“Lovely cafe for afternoon tea”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Lovely stop for afternoon tea during our tour of the Lake Districts...we tried the infamous apple strudel with vanilla sauce and my fiancé with ice cream and they were both really yummy and did not disappoint!!!
The cafe/restaraunt feels very homely with the staff being inviting and pleasant...thank you!
We have been enchanted by Salzburg and the hospitality of the people and this cafe is no exception.
There were many other slices and cakes to try and I thoroughly recommend this place!

“Excellent little cafe near St. Michael's”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

I got roped on taking the Sound of Music Tour which started from the boat at Linz, then coach to Mondsee and Salzburg then meeting the boat in Passau. The parking lot was packed with buses and we got suckered into a 3 Euro roundtrip in a little choo-choo transport up to St. Michael's church. We did get a bonus trip by the lake though.
It was Pentacost so the church was full of folks in Alpine garb. I snuck off to Cafe Fraunschuh nearby because it had covered outdoor dining as well as a cozy interior as it was about to rain. Viewing their pastry and dessert offerings, I went back and grabbed the wife and another couple and ducked inside. The place was pretty crowded but we found a little table just inside the front window.
The coffee and desserts we sampled were awesome even though I'm not a huge sweets guy. Tarts, tortes, cakes, rolls - they were all fresh & tasty (we sampled each others).
One girl was waiting on the entire interior while another handled the outdoor tables but they were fast and pretty friendly considering the frenetic pace at which they were working. Had no problems at all with attitude, ordering, service or the food. Not especially unique but just a good, likely family-run, little cafe.
