We had an amazing room right by the stream and were walking distance to the center of Mondsee, and, more importantly, the waterpark on the lake. Breakfast was amazing and my children appreciated the games room and outdoor play space (which was on a very busy road, younger children would need close supervision!). Would love to stay here again!

The pension is rated 2 stars but all facilitiess deserve easily 3 star rating. The owners are directy iinvolved in main activities (reception, restaurant) and dio their best to accomodate any request. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and elegantly furnished and the fridge, microwave and kettler are really useful. Internet has good coverage and speed is above expectations. Breakfast is not only rich (includes a squeezer for fresh orange juice) but all ingrediantes are of excellent quality. Sufficient parking space and we were offered also storage for our bikes in a large garage. Outside, there are facilities for kids entertainment like a small playing ground with trampoline, sandbox and table tennis. All these for roughly 70 EUR/night for a superior double room. In the evenings, the owners run also a nice restaurant, specialized in Austrian schnitzels.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the small creek behind the pension are more quiet.

Loved our riverside room - lulled by the rushing water day and night. We chose a superior room, and really appreciated the space and location. The furnishings were simple and comfortable - we slept great, and liked the spacious and spotless bathroom. Breakfast was great - a reserved table for each room, and really good breads, cereals, cheeses and meats, fresh fruit and fresh squeezed orange juice. The owners are friendly and helpful - all in all, a great experience.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room for more space and the best location

Loved our spacious, comfortable but simple riverside room - lulled to sleep every night by the rushing water. Then woke to a terrific breakfast served by the friendly and helpful owners. Liked the free parking and wifi, location with easy access to the region, and walking distance to the historic center and lake. A great base for exploring the Salzkammergut.

Room Tip: A superior riverside room is worth the extra expense (and still so very reasonable!) for the extra s...

Went there for my friend's bachelor party. Alltogether we were 5 people who stayed in the "suite". The problems started when we were informed on the day of our arrival that they have overbooked and so they suggested to move some of our friends, we were 10 in total to another b&b nearby. Needless to say that these bad news at such short notice did not sit well with us but we did not have the time to search for other options. The other b&b, which was supposed to be in walking distance, was around 20 minutes away for very fast walkers.

The craziest thing was the room. Tha bathroom was ok, nothing special, not dirty. The "suite" was said to be designed for 4 people and we asked for one extra bed. This bed was a foldable matress simply put on the floor. Bed sheets for one of the beds was missing until very late. As I travel a lot internationally I have a good idea of room sizes and how a suite should look like. This room, the so-called "suite" was nothing more than a substandard smallish double room with one microwave in the corner and a very small tv. It was closer to a closet than to a suite. Seriously, when turning around I was afraid the bogeyman might catch me.

Anyway, to finish this little rant I want to let you know the price. EUR 195,- for this piece of crap room. 'nuff said.

Just to let you know, the whole region around these lakes in upper austria is a tota rip off. substandard facilities and amenities for upscale prices. There is a saying for this region. Drive through on the Autobahn and throw out the money for them and don't bother tstopping, that's how they like it. It's not surprising that the other b&b was exactly the same rip off, a substandard room with a shower cabin planted in one corner, not renovated for decades.

A real disgrace as the region would be very nice.
