“Home away from home in Pedasi!!!”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Having travelled to Pedasi for the past 8 years, we were familiar with many of the hotels in the area, and had even stayed at Casa Lajagua previously. The hotel has remained basically unchanged with simple but extremely comfortable rooms, very quiet and quite clean. This is my first trip advisor post as I rarely like to share, but the new owners Craig and April were so great I felt compelled to do so. They could have been long lost friends from high school. Home cooked breakfast every morning when you woke up, eggs toast with jam and butter yogurt granola and honey fresh fruit. Your standard breakfast but not common or easy to find in Pedasi by any means. Being expert dive instructors, Craig and April are quite familiar with the fishing and diving ins and outs in the area. They offer their services as guides as well as their knowledge for those that want to venture out on their own. If you are unfamiliar with the area or travelling to Latin America for the first time, having such helpful and friendly hosts is a huge factor in guaranteeing a positive experience. I am happy to have stayed at casa lajagua and will consider it my home away from home in Pedasi with great new friends to visit. Can't wait to see you guys next year!!!

Thank you so much. April and I work very hard to insure that everyone has a fun and memorable time here. We really love to hear how guests enjoy our cooking. Comments like these keep us inspired to continue with the quality and friendly service that we would like to receive if we were guests. It is a simple concept really and one we always keep in mind. You don't have to wait until next year to come back! We'll always have room for you whenever you like. Cheers!

I brought my wife and children to Pedasi for the first time and we were fortunate to find Casa Lajagua. The place is immaculate and very beautiful. The open air atmosphere and friendly Canadian owner/operators made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return. By far the best place we looked at.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We had such a wonderful time with your family, I know your children really enjoyed playing in the pool. We hope to have your family join us again one day in Pedasi.

What a lovely place. I loved the architecture of the place and the rooms have a good distribution. The shower is in one room while the restroom is in another room, in the middle there's a big mirror. Big closet space for your belongings. Queen bed and additionally a twin bed. The room as well as the sheets of the bed were very clean, which is very important to me given that I'm allergic to dust. The breakfast, which is included in the fee, was delicious and with good portions. I really recommend it!

Room Tip: Buena calidad por el precio. Good quality for the price.

Thank you so much for choosing Casa Lajagua. We are so excited about meeting wonderful people from all over, like yourselves. We think it is very important to have a large breakfast in the morning for our guests. I see a lot of people feel the same way. We hope to see you back here again one day soon.

Rodolfo and Cecilia know what it's about to own a good B&B: They gave us a warm welcome and limitless tips on what to do and getting around (and especially on how to get to Tocumen Airport by car, as a map alone will never bring you there...!). The (6) rooms are very clean and we really liked the minimalistic concrete interior style, refreshing, yet still very cosy! We were there on the last day of Carnaval and the main streets of Pedasi are just a 5-7 minute walk from Lajagua, and Rodolfo advised us where to go at what time to see and join the parties and parade. I would advise anyone travelling to Pedasi or Playa Venao (good surfing!) to stay at Lajagua. Do not skip the trip to Isla Iguana, with a lovely white sandy beach and good snorkeling ($60 boat return and $ 10 pp to get on the island, Cecilia or Rodolfo can advise where to find a skipper). On the way over we had dolphins jumping next to our boat! Really good place to eat in town: Pasta e Vino! Lovely and cheap Italian food (only $5 a dish) and good wine. Smileys is nice to meet other travelers and grab a burger. A big thanks to Cecilia and Rodolfo for making our last days in Panama memorable ones!

We spent 3 nights here and Cecelia was a great hostess. She helped us with directions, arranged a trip to Isla Iguana, served a bountiful breakfast and was fun to chat with. The B & B is about a 5-7 minute walk out of town and about 2-3 minutes by car from the beach. The swimming pool is nice to refresh in. Rooms were clean and spacious, but a bit stark as ther are made totally from poured concrete, then decorated. We spent very little time in the rooms, but they were comfortable. The deck outside the room has comfortable chairs and hammocks for lounging. We would definately stay here again!

This is the second time I have the pleasure of staying at Lajagua at Pedasi. I love going here because I feel more at a friends place than in a inn. Cecilia and Rodolfo go over their head to make you feel as if you where at your own home and go the extra mile to ensure you have the best possible experience. This last time Rodolfo even took us whale watching. Great place, great vibe, great food, great host, great weekend...

Room Tip: All rooms are practically the same! more privacy is at the last room (#6 I think)

Cecelia and Rafael, owners of Casa Lajagua, were welcoming and fun people and helped to make my husband and my vacation most memorable. I loved swimming in the warm pool at night, Cecelia's great food all topped off by a gorgeous Gold Eagle family visiting for breakfast. Make sure you take in Isla Iguna and the tropical fish. We recommend it" Denise and Joe Potts, San Diego. Ca.
