“The best part: the attractions in or near the Forest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

Black Hills National Forest covers a huge portion of the Black Hills, and surrounds many towns, ranches, and homes. The Forest itself is enjoyable, particularly for hikers and sightseers. The real joy of the Forest are all the things in it or adjoining it. This includes National Parks, Caves, Mt. Rushmore, and even the tourist attractions in towns such as Hot Springs, Custer, Hill City, and Keystone. If you're into hiking or camping, stop by one of the National Forest offices and pick up information - especially a good map. Bottom line: real "mountain" forests in the middle of the prairie.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

I'm not sure how to review the Black Hills other than to say it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The geography is magnificent, and there are stunning views in every direction. navigating the hills in a car can be a bit nerve wracking, though, so be careful!

“Simply beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

The Black Hills are as pretty as anywhere in the country. There are so many things to do there. Hiking, biking, boating, climbing, caving, zip-lining, rafting, and on and on. Mt Rushmore is amazing and there are so many things for kids and adults to see and do.

The Black Hills offer an opportunity to see the effects of forest fires over a long period of time. The Indians used to set them to control wildlife and now naturally occurring fires happen every few years. It's sad on one hand but it is how nature is supposed to work.

Don't miss it.

“Mystical”

This place will rekindle your love of the wild. Even though to young people it might seem boring, the area has towering pine trees, plains, and just over all a beautiful view.
