I did realize that this highway runs through the state park and requires you to pay the park fee.

The road was fun. Glad I wasn't the driver though!

We always look forward to driving through the Needles when we are out in the Black Hills. It's always a beautiful drive and a fun climbing experience for our family.

“Beautiful!!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

We visited South Dakota last week during the Sturgis rally, and spend our days taking day trips around the area. Riding the Needles Highway was one of the best rides we had the whole time! Incredible views, and the Needles Eye was well worth the trip. Big tourist stop, right at a tunnel, some congestion but still worth it. Loved it.

“Wow!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This is a must see and do for any visitor to the area. The scenery is unbelievable. It takes about an hour or so to do the complete Needles Eye drive, but so worth it.

“Needles Makes Park”

Needles reminds me of creating sand castles by taking really wet sand and making tall columns, but these are in granite. My boys had a wonderful time walking and climbing in this area.
