The concierge's at this hotel were very helpful. We were there during the rally, which is busy for hotels and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They saved an extra room day for us and assisted in locating a more appropriate location for me when I determined that Custer was too far from Rapid City. We definitely will stay here the next time we are in the area.

Additionally, the room was clean and well cared for.

We booked for four days and stayed on for a fifth. We loved this place. Even though we were here during the time of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (meaning the prices were a bit jacked up from the normal - hey, we all got to make money when we can!), it was surprisingly quiet. It was on the edge of Custer, so away from the "downtown" area but close enough to walk to most anything. Hotel was very clean, staff very attentive, comfy beds, great wi-fi connection, pool was indoor but able to open windows so not too stuffy, and the breakfast was very good. If we had one complaint, and it's stretching to use the word "complaint"...the eggs at breakfast were not very good, tasted like egg beaters or egg substitute. Otherwise, there were great waffles, a nice selection of fresh fruit, varied breads and muffins, several different cereals, peanut butter and jellies, juices, coffee, and the biscuits and gravy were awesome. Great place to use as a jumping off location to see Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park or any other attractions in the area.

We stayed here twice. Once on our way to Rapid City and then two days later on our way back. The front desk was very friendly- they even remembered us the second time. The rooms were clean. Cookies served in the evening were delicious and well appreciated by my kids.
Breakfast was good- had a different menu each day we stayed- scrambled eggs and sausage one day and omlets and biscuits and gravy the next. Even the type of waffles available to make changed- one day plain and chocolate, the other plain and banana nut. Normally the breakfast selections are the same every day. Breakfast attendant was very helpful and attentive.
Close to the area attractions. Would definitely saty here again and recommend to friends.

This is the second time my family has stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Custer. Both times we have been very pleased. The hotel is clean and up-to-date, the breakfast is great with plenty of options and availability, and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. Behind the hotel is a nice patio area to enjoy the outdoors. The pool area is nice (although the floor is VERY slippery) and the staff does a superb job of making sure the pool towels are continuously replenished. Adjacent to the hotel is a mini golf course and just down the road a delicious pie place. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in July 2012. I have had little experience with the Comfort Inn brand and was not expecting a whole lot. We were really surprised though. The hotel is clean and the front desk people are really nice. It is right on the main drag and adjacent to a mini golf and across the street from a magic show and the flinstones park. There is a Holiday Inn Express right next door that you might be tempted to book first but there is no need to spend any extra money, this place is a really good value.

Stayed at hotel first night while visiting the Black Hills. What a terrific find...hated to check out! Very clean, super friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. Hotel is located on beautiful property with plenty of parking. Custer is neat little town. Will definitely stay there again when we return.

What a hotel!! The staff bent over backwards to make sure our every need was met. Check-in was easy and the bill matched my online reservation. The hotel is super clean, the pool area is large and very well equipped. Stayed for two nights while visiting the Black Hills/Mt. Rushmore area and could not have been happier. Breakfast area and food quality/choice was excellent. When staying at a hotel in an area I plan to tour with my family, I look for four things; cleanliness, great pool area for the kids, exceptional breakfast to get me on the road, and comfortable rooms for a good night sleep. This hotel exceeded my expectations at all levels.

Room Tip: A room on the first floor is great here because the pool and breakfast area is centrally located so...
