“Excellent food a bit expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

The food and service was excellent but it is a bit expensive. We had the buffalo steak and elk steak. Both done to perfection. Also had the buffalo chili and stew which were also excellent. Service was prompt and friendly.

“Awesome meal and awesome service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

We had a table of 13 and they treated us like we were a table for 2 and the place was packed! Those that had steak, couldn't quite raving about theirs. Those that had the fish were equally sharing their kudos. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.

“Great buffalo stew”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

We had a group of eight folks here and everyone liked what they ordered. The service was prompt with a fun woman originally from Russia with a good sense of humor. My buffalo stew was probably the best that I've ever had. Definitely worth a visit.

“Best Elk Tenderloin Ever...!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

Ate there 10/6. Just across street from Rocket Motel, we found it to be very convienient and offering good service and eats.

Entry is through a gift shop and the dining room is spacious and well appointed. Although it is a steak house, don't expect fine cloth napkins and crystal wine glasses however.

Service was quick, attentive and friendly. Tried the Moose Drool beer, a brown ale, which I can recommend to any beer drinker. They also have Buffalo Sweat beer which we didn't try, as well as the normal brand name beers and wines.

Never had elk before, but got the tenderloin (about $20) and loved it. It came with loaded baked potato and corn on the cob. Found it to be very tender and tasty. Wife had buffalo roast which was also good. Shared an ice cream and cake desert. Total cost for the meal was $62 before tip.

“Not a place for vegetarians”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

I understood that is a steakhouse so it was unlikely to have a main course for vegetarians so I looked at the side orders and at what came with the meat entrees.

I tole the waiter I was vegetarian and asked for the garlic mashed potato, corn-on-the-cob ffrom the side orders and a portion of the vegetables served with the steak. I was told that the only vegetable they had was the sweetcorn.

When the food came out the mash was covered in gravy so I had to send it back. Another portion was brought out but it tatsed awful so I ordered a jacket potato instead. The sweetcorn was actually only about a third of the cob.

It was all very disappointing and my partner's food (meat) was not much better.
