You can just drive through this park, which just consists of lots of trees, winding roads, and maybe some bison. Or you can ride horses at Blue Bell. Or you can camp in the many many campsites or cabins. To stay in this park you CANNOT pay at the campsite. You have to make reservations online or by phone. There are directions for doing this at the campgrounds, but it's a pain in the butt. The cabins are cheap and very nice. They have heat and AC, outside bathrooms, porches, fire rings (which you may not be allowed to use if there is a burn ban). Center Lake is the least touristy. It is small with fairly clear water, lots of trout, and a nice swimming beach. Reservations can only be made the day of your stay. But the best kept secrest is the series of walk-in lakes for fishing. Beware bison while walking to these lakes. But the fishing in these little lakes is amazing.

I believe this an attraction that everyone in the United States should visit. They show you a free film presentation and then you get to go and see the site of custer's last stand. You can get a guided tour. We stayed longer than we though just taking in all the battle area and the last stand area. You cant help but have great passion for both sides of the fighting. In 1964 I was in the Gary Owen Battalion that Custer was in while I was in the !st Cav in Korea. So it had more meaning to me than most. 29 years retired U.S. ARMY

The park is awesome. Lots of wildlife and 4 attractive lodges. This is a place to visit with kids or as a couple and one where you will return.
