Welcomed by the aroma of fresh basil when I entered, there were fresh roses on all of the tables and tasteful music set at a distinctly subtle, uncommonly low volume (yay!).
I ordered the specialty, a layered cheese, eggplant and other veggie baked dish. It was absolutely delicious, having been served no cheese but white queso if I’m lucky, uneaten processed cheese slices if I’m not. They also had balsamic vinegar to go with the bread, which I have not seen since Panajachel over one month ago.
Overall a very nice experience just down the road from Posada del Cerro fronting Lake Peten Itza (it was dark and raining, not sure if there is a view).
