This was the perfect apartment for our week’s stay in New Orleans. Large, airy, attractive, and comfortable rooms, a kitchen that includes a washer and dryer, a front porch over-looking a small garden with chairs for having coffee and drinks, extremely helpful and thoughtful owners who live on the premises but respect their guests’ privacy, and very close to a market in an old mansion where you can shop for groceries. A few block’s walk will take you to an appealing area with restaurants, shops, and bakeries. Trolley stop one short block away.
My family of 3 and my mother spent the week exploring New Orleans from this fantastic apartment in the Garden District. One block to the streetcar, a few blocks to Magazine street and the Lafayette Cemetery - what a great location! We wanted a quieter, more neighborhood feel with a 5 year old and this was perfect. The apartment is clean, spacious, and has everything you may need. The binders with information about anything and everything New Orleans were a fantastic resource, and we appreciated how much effort our hosts made to make us feel comfortable, and their home is just beautiful.
Gina was a very helpful, welcoming host. We were able to keep in touch to ask questions, and she was very sweet - even giving my daughter a parting gift. Plus, I left some clothes there and she mailed them back to me! I really can't say enough about how terrific it was to have a place like this to stay with my family. We will definitely be back! Thanks to Gina and family for this wonderful experience.
A charming and very comfortable stay in this lovely historic property. Our hosts truly go above and beyond to equip their guests with everything needed. If you stay here you’ll be in good hands, in a great location, in a city that deserves to be loved! Almost didn’t want to write this... I don’t want it to not be available for my next stay!
Gina and Joseph were great. They keep us informed of upcoming events bases on on our stay date. Perfect accommodations for the six of us. Pet-friendly and Child-friendly. Gina and Joseph leaving notes during our stay of great local restaurants and local events. FIVE star accommodations and FIVE star folks like Gina and Joseph. WOW how great it all was.
Three of us (2 adults and one young adult) stayed in this lovely house for the Sugar Bowl, and are very pleased with our choice. The beds were comfortable, the Garden District was beautiful and the location was convenient to both the St. Charles streetcar line and to Magazine Street where there are lots of restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. It was pouring rain when we arrived, but Gina and Joseph met us at our car on the curb in front of their house, and kept us dry as we unloaded and stepped inside. The upstairs apartment is beautiful with two bedrooms, one bathroom,a small living room with Apple TV, and a small kitchen. We cooked breakfast one morning, and had breakfast at a cafe recommended by Gina on Magazine Street the other morning, which was an easy and scenic 10-min walk.
The only problem we experienced was that ambulance sirens kept waking us up the first night. There is a hospital nearby, and the nearest intersection was under construction, so we think the ambulances would turn on their sirens for a few seconds as they drove through the intersection, to make sure it was safe. Fortunately, Gina was happy to provide a box fan which provided wonderful white noise, and we slept superbly the second night.
Gina and Joseph also provided a parking pass, so we were able to come and go easily with no worries about finding a parking spot.
This is a really wonderful property and we enjoyed staying away from the French Quarter. Checking in and out was really easy too, Gina and Joseph are just excellent hosts!
Perfect location, exceptionally nice hosts (Gina and Joseph live in the building and are thus very available if you need them), a very good value for the Garden District. The apartment isn't slick or modern, but it has lots of character, a comfy ambience, and a surprising amount of space. Gina has put together a very useful binder with information about the house and the neighborhood. Fresh Market, a wonderful grocery, is literally around the corner (this building used to house some of its employees when it was a funeral home), as is the St. Charles streetcar line. The kitchen has everything but an oven (there's a four-burner cooktop and a spiffy microwave with a convection drawer for warming pizza)--no prob unless you were planning a holiday turkey or some such. A beautiful neighborhood. We walked everywhere. It was a lovely vacation.

I can't even begin to explain how wonderful our stay was! It wasn't only beautiful, Gina and her sister, Carly, were more helpful than you could imagine. The apartment was so spacious and clean and in true NOLA style. Also the owners have a binder with excellent reference materials for your stay. I would stay here again in a hot minute and I fully intend to recommend it to anyone I know who is going to this fabulous city on vacation. So much better than a hotel. Southern hospitality at it's finest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
