“Good Food-Old School Style”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Rolled in to The French Quarter from Minnesota around lunch time, we got seated right away, served water and a menu pretty quick, ordered the "Gumbo Sampler Platter" and the "half and half"[half catfish and half shrimp]....I don't really understand the bad reviews, we thought the food was really good and the atmosphere was old school french quarter just as we had hoped. we split these two meals between 4 people and left with just a little room left to have some candy for dessert

“Good food/good service”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

I truly enjoyed my dinner at the River's Edge - they have a varied menu and get away from the typical dishes that are served everywhere - we had red snapper with crab, a chef salad with delicious fried baby shrimp on top and a wonderful, creamy corn and crab bisque. The service was good and the price was on target.

“Good food - stressed server”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Stopped in for brunch. Wasn't sure what was going on but nobody was seating people - servers were doing it and they appeared rushed. Our server appeared stressed but he seemed to be doing the best he could (seemed short staffed). I will say he seemed annoyed that the kitchen tried to give us a French toast order (a signature item for $10) that was small so he had them do it over (I appreciate that). But - the omelets and french toast were great - be patient and try this place.

“Great food- quick service”

First stop for lunch on arriving in New Orleans - central to all the goings on at the waters edge...Fried pickles were amazing ...we've been talking about them ever since

“Seriously Disappointed”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Of all the fine restaurants in New Orleans ...close to everything ...we walked in to one of the worst places I've ever eaten! Everything was so salty ...two of the four of us couldn't eat the dishes we ordered (corn chowder and red beans and rice) so we ordered a simple side salad since we were so hungry. The other two like their food salty. I wanted that good ole Cajun spiciness.... I got table salt. Wasn't cheap either.

The restrooms were questionable. Had to walk to an alley of sorts ...not clean. Will never go there again and urge those reading to pick another place in New Orleans for Cajun fare.
