Saw good reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to try Zea out. WOW, we were blown away. We walked in and the place was a little nicer than we were dressed for (I was wearing flip flops because of a sore foot, Husband was in shorts and a polo shirt), so we asked if we were dressed ok for dinner. We were greeted like family and made to feel totally at home. The manager was incredibly personable and treated us so well. Our server, O'Neal, was friendly and efficient. And the food? Outrageously good, and probably some of the best we had on our trip. We started with the shrimp and grits appetizer, and it was fantastic. I had the rotisserie salad (their pepper jelly vinaigrette was to die for) and Husband had the fried chicken breasts with red beans and rice (wonderful!). Their beers were also very good. Happy and full of wonderful food, the manager then comped us dessert because we were first timers to the restaurant! We were served a huge piece of what they call a sweet potato bread pudding, complete with a rum praline sauce. Fabulous, simply fabulous! I wouldn't call it a bread pudding, think more of a dense, flavorful apple cake type of dish, but without the apples. It was so good, but also really big, we weren't able to quite finish it. I've been craving the shrimp and grits AND the bread pudding since then, and if we ever make it back to New Orleans, or anyplace there's a Zea, we will DEFINITELY go again! Loved the manager, loved the server and the service, and absolutely loved the food, wonderfully delicious.
