Nice place to watch parades with none of the craziness. Brandi was an excellent manager and gracious hostess.

The hotel is located in an excellent area, especially if you don't want the noise and action of French Quarter at night. We traveled as a family with 2 teenagers, and the service was excellent - breakfast, afternoon snack/tea, free parking, and the free wireless connection. Kids loved the pleasant atmosphere of the hotel very much. It was very close to the colleges we wanted to visit, and we could get a good sense of the neighborhood, quite naturally. The streetcar stops right in front of the hotel, and we felt like we were settling in the city rather than visiting! The only thing missing was the laundry room - if you stay here for several days like we did and need the laundry facilities, you would have to drive to a coin laundry in the neighborhood, which wasn't too bad at all, but it would still help if there were those facilities on site. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful (especially the lady named Nadia) as well. Overall, this was one of the best places that we have stayed in 2009!

I had stayed at this property before and must have had an upgraded room. It's not like I remembered. The rooms and amenities are standard Hampton Inn, clean and of average size. The pluses to this property are it's location, away from Downtown, and the trolley runs in front of the hotel. This can be good or bad depending on your interests. Downsides to this property include slowish internet (it may have been room location). The rooms are not business traveler friendly. No buisiness center but a computer was available in the lobby for your use. Standard hard back chair and desk, uncomfortable to sit in while doing emails. There was also a lack of available electric outlets for chargers. A/C unit is one of those in the wall jobs that is not controlled by a digital thermostat so the fan runs constantly. This property usually runs a little higher due to it proximity to college campus and sells out quickly when school is in session. Overall a good choice. I think it would meet anyone's expectations. There are better rates often available downtown near the French Quarter if you are looking for that type of action.

This pleasant inn is in the Garden District, near Tulane and Loyola Universities and Audubon Park, and along the street car line. Although it is not an old building, there are touches of New Orleans style in the design and decor. The staff was very friendly at check-in, and agreed to a late check-out time the following day at no extra charge. There is a free, well-lit, parking lot in back, with easy, covered access to unload luggage. The room was well furnished, with a mini-fridge and microwave, but seemed smaller than usual for a Hampton. The beds were doubles, not queens as usually found in Hampton Inns, and there was very little space to walk around in the room, or to open suitcases. If traveling with more than two people and staying more than one night, I would recommend getting an additional room. The beds were very comfortable, with nice linens, and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was excellent with several hot selections (biscuits, sausage, eggs,) as well as a variety of cereals, breads, yogurt, juices and fresh fruit. A staff member constantly tended to breakfast and replenished the food. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to return.

Liked most - Convenient location, friendly staff
Liked least - Small rooms, double instead of queen beds

There is a complimentary cheese and wine reception every eve and that too is fab!!! Rooms are very clean and one of the most comfortable beds i slept in on my travels!!!! The hotel also offers complimentary access to a local gym which is adequately stocked... the streetcar out the front is fantastic but not frequent enough..not blaming the hotel mind ya...!!
