We've stayed in the French Quarter and it was too much. Too many people and the room wasn't great. In this area, you can walk to shops, resturants, etc. and won't feel like just another body. Don't waste you time or money staying in "The Quarter", this is a lovely area where you can relax, refresh and be on your way.

Another wonderful stay. Took my family of 10 to New Orleans for Jazz Fest. How nice it was to come back to such a nice hotel when you are so tired. There is always flavored water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and all kinds o fresh fruit in the lobby 24 hours a day. Two of my grandchildren go to college there and they were very impressed with the location and service. The breakfast was great as well as the rooms. Everyone was so nice. My husband and I stay at this hotel every time we visit NO.

Off street free parking is a major advantage. The hotel is on the street car line making a trip to the Quarter a fun experience. Two doors down from an excellent Tex-Mex restaurant. I would (and already have) recommended to family and friends.

We booked two rooms for March 2014.First they had Free Parking. That was a big deal for us on this trip as it seemed everywhere we stayed charged a lot for parking. We never had a problem finding a spot. The hotel staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast it was your basic Hampton fare, fresh and free.Loved the fruit ice water available 24 hours inside and outside on the patio. My boys missed a pool and fitness center on site. They would have given you passes to a fitness center but I am unsure of its location. They had a pool,it was a lap pool,a very cold lap pool.Granted it was mid March and really only two out of the five days we stayed here it could have been used but there were a lot of leaves and dirt in it and it was very cold. The patio was well maintained. They always had fresh towels, water and clean tables. The patio furniture was well made and they had four loungers that were a sooo comfy and plush. I wish I could say that about the rooms but I could not.The beds in one of our rooms was just so far gone it was almost painful to sleep on.The other room was much better,Both furnishings were repaired but still the drawers were a struggle to open.Carpeting too really needs an upgrade.Cleanliness was never an issue the staff really does a fantastic job.The TV's were new.Bathrooms were good.Key card accessible only in elevators and front door after 10 I really like this feature.

Overall it was very good and would I book again? probably not. I loved the location and other things that I listed but until the rooms are remodeled I,personally would book elsewhere. That is my opinion for my family only. You make your choice.

I always like staying at this Hampton Inn when I visit New Orleans. The uptown location is beautiful. The service is friendly & prompt. Breakfast is acceptable & the coffee is good. I think the price is high for a Hampton Inn, but it is in a big city & it is one of the few nice places around the area.

This is not your typical Hampton Inn. It sits in the Garden District, surrounded by old mansions and the street car line runs right past the front steps. The lobby has a wonderful atmosphere to it, and there is a great courtyard outside.

The rooms are pretty typical, and because it's an older building they don't feel as crisp and clean as a more modern Hampton Inn, but my room was definitely clean. It's just that feeling of rooms that are older, if that makes sense. My shower worked great, the wi-fi worked great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There are several restaurant options within walking distance, and you can jump on the streetcar to explore more. The Garden District is lovely, and it's the main parade route in Mardi Gras.

I enjoyed staying at this site, and I would stay there again.

The lobby was very welcoming, the rooms were clean, the staff was freindly, and the location was very convenient to downtown, uptown and local restaurants. The substantial breakfast was a surprise for what was promoted as "continental breakfast" whcih is usually just toast and fruit. There is no reason not to stay here.
