“Great, modern, excellent location.”
Reviewed December 6, 2011

This is a great hotel. On my first trip to New Orleans, my client booked me a room at another hotel and once my assignment was done, I switched hotels to try out this La Quinta Inn. I'm a huge fan of La Quintas so I wanted to try it to compare the two and also to get the points.

The room was super big and modern with a great bed looking out over the city. What a view from this area too, nice. The bathroom was also big and well-stocked with nice toiletries and fresh, fluffy towels and was as spotless as the entire room was. The mini-fridge is always welcome, especially for multi-day stays. The location was perfect, literally right in the middle of everything so walking to sights or restaurants was a breeze. It's close to the street car lines too so if you're going farther than you can walk, you can jump on one of the street cars.

The breakfast was great with eggs and oatmeal and decent coffee, along with the usual rolls and muffins and breads, cereals, etc. There are a couple of Starbucks nearby if you're into dark coffee like I am, but I'm sure there are local coffee places there too with great brew.

This will most likely be my hotel of choice in New Orleans on any future trips. It's a great hotel and the folks working there are as nice as everyone else in NOLA is!

Sayed here weekend after Thanksgiving. The suite had a unique apartment-like floorplan. The staff was helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Loved the location of the hotel and was able to walk to the French Quarter easily.

Incredible value for a suite in downtown New Orleans. Free Wi-Fi was nice. Would definitely recommend to someone needing a very reasonably priced suite in a good location.

By far our choice in N.O.. Reasonable rates, excellent location, clean rooms with fridge & micro. Easy walk to Harrah's or the Quarter. Staff friendly enough. Average breakfast but ,then again, it's free.
We arrived a bit early this last time and after trying to reach housekeeping to see if our room type was ready the young lady upgraded us to get us in.
We'll definitely be back.

Stay in NOLA a great deal of tiem and often. After 'supporting' a particular hotel for quite some time decided to start staying at other places and just 'selected' this La Quinta this trip past. It is basically exactly as that which they proprt. It is a decent enough higher-end three star hotel. It is a 'show' pony in that it looks pretty at the first glnace, yet the 'works' part is not there. I am not sure if teh economy has hobbled its staff?! They were NOT very attentive to anyone witnesed by this traveller (inclusive of self). TImes when needed they never p/u phone from internal calls, yet would when calling in on cell-phone (how chinsy is that?!).

VALET service was OK -- yet VERY slow to bring vehicle up and the hotel was next to empty -- again query of staffing/vs income (understood yet it affected our schedule twice negatively).

Breaky was status-quo for three star

PEFECT location for easy access from and to that which you desired (and far enough from FQ so one can sleep :)

Recommended in general!

Room Tip: Back of hotel (lower floors re elevator (nothing really to see on uppers)

Minimal breakfast buffet, the valet watched us unload our car not once offering to help, the concierge could tell us NOTHING in regards to area restaurants..... And on and on. Good location but with so many other hotels close by pick one of them!!

We spent 2 nights at the La Quinta this past weekend. It is not exactly IN the French Quarter, but very close. The location was great, breakfast crazy busy with kids and families. Our biggest complaint was the lack of hot water for the shower. Over the 2 days between my husband and I (4 showers total) there was never hot water. We asked at the desk and were told that they only have one hot water tank. Barely warm water is not good enough ever, but certainly not at $150+
per night. One day we returned at 3:30pm and our room wasn't cleaned yet. The housekeeper did clean it then, but we had to go back out and wander around for 45 minutes.

Had a great time in new orleans during mardi gras season. The hotel was very clean, and staff were very friendly. They also had extremely comfortable beds :) My only problem was they charged my card twice. So everyone make sure you check you accounts. But overall i loved this hotel.

Room Tip: high floors better views
