“The Staff Keeps Me Returning”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Arrived here late on 28Feb for a 2 night stay and had the pleasure of checking in with Logan. My reason for the trip was to show my elderly Mother New Orleans for the first time. Thanks for your suggustion for gettiing a bite to eat within walking distance to that award winning resturant although they were closing and advised Dino's Bar and Grill a few blocks up. Great food and drink at a reasonalble price. Awesome bartender too!. We were just very tired from traveling all day. Being in the travel industry you don't always get on your deisired flights. This RI layout outside is pretty much identical to any other, although they appeared to have less space to work with and is a little more compact, but your usual courtyard, basketball court, pool and lounge area. The 1bd, pull out couch was definatly small than other Ri. We stayed in room 729. PLEASE replace that couch before putting another customer in there. I am a dedicated silver elite and believe me when I NEVER complain, but honestly did not sleep for 2 nights, and I am a lightweight. Overall, I think if I were in another room, I would have a better things to say, but all in all, by all means give this place a try as I am sure there are better rooms. We had street noice, so my mother did not sleep either. Try to request a room facing the courtyard as it must be quieter. Also, a cab ride to the quarter is only about $10 so worth staying here to avoid the loudness down there. Breakfast was good and the staff is excellent and attentive. There is also during the week a social hour with a good amout of food and drink that is put. We only had water but alot of people enjoy this.

This is a great place for families in downtown New Orleans. The location is within walking distance (about a mile) to many attractions, such as the aquarium and French Quarter. Restaurant selection in te area is less than desirable so you may need to take a cab for dinner. Rooms are spacious and clean. The facility is clean and parking is convenient ($20 per night). We had 3 kids and 3 adults in a two-bed suite and did not feel crowded. Much more reasonable than other hotels in the area. We stayed here for the RNR Marathon and were about 3 blocks from the start, very close! The breakfast is adequate, better than most hotel breakfasts. Staff was friendly.

We stayed here, a 3 star, as well as the Crown Plaza, a 4 star. By far the Service and attention to customers was better at the Residence Inn. Even though the location was exponentially better at the Crown, I was sad when we moved. We left behind world class hospitality.

Yes!!! Loved it! We actually booked a 2 bedroom suite with 2 baths. It was very reasonable. We booked this last minute as we had booked a disgusting hotel prior to this. My in-laws were in 1 bedroom and we had the other. Our kids ages 9 and 11 slept on the fold out sofa in the living room. They had a free hot breakfast that was a really nice surprise. Really nice spread they had going on there. Also it was within walking distance of many things with free street parking on weekends which was awesome. Also a wicked short drive 5 minutes or so from Bourbon Street chaos. I think we paid $129 per couple, worth every penny. Clean, great location ( the heart of downtown, very reasonable and outstanding workers. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, you wont be disappointed.

We have no complaints about the Residence Inn on St. Joseph St. Nice location centrally-located between the French Quarter and the Garden District, and close to St. Charles St. and the parades. The suite was well-eqipped and very comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Parking, as noted in other reviews, is kind of a pain but I'm not sure there's anything they can do about it. There's a loading dock next door that forces you to walk into the street to get to the lot but no big deal. We walked the whole visit anyway. Nice courtyard in the center and we took other reviewers' advise and got an "inside" room away from the street noise. Free breakfast but it is the usual clump of "scrambled" eggs, mystery-meat sausages, bagels, etc. You're better off spending a few bucks and walking down Magazine St. to one of the trendy little coffe shops/cafes for a real breakfast. Would definitely consider Residence Inn next visit to NOLA.

Room Tip: Again, choose an inside room overlooking the courtyard.

Mardi Gras going on all around us! The crazies were everywhere, but the hotel remained awesomely professional. I really did not expect much, and was I ever surprised! Once inside you get the always great Residence Inn treatment. Breakfast was great. Everyone seemed glad I was there.

We paid about $400/room during the Mardi Gras time, which seems to be normal for the room rate at Mardi Gras time of the year. Even though the hotel site said that it's paid parking, we were not charged for parking. The parking lot is next to the hotel (we flew into Baton Rouge and drove to NO).

Couldn't believe that the breakfast time during the MG time is 630am - 930 am....if you are charging $400 for the special occasion time, at least extend the breakfast time considering the MG ;-)

4 adults stayed in a room and it's spacious, clean and well maintained. No charges for WIFI.

Closer to the St. Charles street where the parades take place. Try get a room in the Courtyard in the st. charles before booking here.
