“Nice hotel in a good location”
Reviewed May 18, 2011

Overall a good Residence Inn. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking is $20/day in the lot next door. Location is near the WWII museum and a few blocks from the convention center. Bourbon St. is a bit of a hike.
I would get a room away from the road next time as it can be noisy.
Cochon restaurant and the Cochon Butcher is nearby. Good sandwiches at the Butcher for take-out.
Internet was fast and breakfast was good.
Afternoon happy hour had beer and a selection of wines. Food looked pretty good but I didn't try any. Pool was small but was clean.

My wife and I stayed at this location on a recent visit to New Orleans. We were both blown away with the freindly service, clean rooms and location of this property. It's been a long time since we experienced the level of service this hotel delivers. The entire staff went out of their way to insure our stay was excellent. We stayed in a 1 bedroom that offered us plenty of room and was very clean,we had maid service daily. The free morning breakfast was SUPER!!! The evening finger foods were a big hit and the drinks(Beer, soda and Wine) hit the spot after a long day site seeing. I saved the best for last the location...2 blocks from the River Walk,2 blocks from Harrahs and a short walk to the French Quater.
The price was very reasonable and we would reccomend this property to anyone that comes to New Orleans for a hands on experience.

Stayed there for JazzFest. Shared 2 bedroom suite between 5 people. Room was clean and up to date. Quiet at night. Really liked the hot tub -- very warm and it was needed after a day of dancing at the Festival. Outdoor seating area was a nice place to relax and meet other guests (if you don't mind some smoke.) Full breakfast seemed ok, I didn't sample it much.
Located in warehouse district, weird mix of delapidated old industrial sites, fancy restaurants, and nightclubs.
Within blocks of several great restaurants: Emerils (expensive but excellent), Butcher (quick sandwiches loaded with meat), and a must-visit: Mulate's, a reasonably priced Cajun restaurant, very large, live music, famous for good reasons. And several others.
1.5 blocks to Howlin' Wolf, great blues/funk club with top NO bands. Also close to 12 Bar and other clubs. About 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street / French Quarter.

Room Tip: north side -- quietest

Very friendly front desk.Room and fittings a little old and worn out but generally fine. Little tip for them when you have five people staying in a room, make sure you put enough towels in the room.

Stayed in beautifully accommodated 2 bedroom suite. The staff was wonderful and extremely hospitable-called for taxis and recommended restaurants for us. The complimentary breakfasts and manager's socials were quite nice perks-very well presented. If you needed anything, all you had to do was ask, and it was taken care of. We will definitely stay there again, and highly recommend this very pleasant hotel to everyone!

Pluses: The hotel is easy walking distance to the French Quarter and many dinning options. The hotel brunch was very extensive and the staff very responsive. The pool area was well maintained and enjoyable to use.

Negatives: The room was just adequate. The furnishings were a little run down and gave a sense of lack of care. In fact, the closet doors were missing, electrical outlet hanging loose and the plumbing in the bathroom ran all day long. There was even a rodent glue board in the kitchen area which did not inspire using the area for storage or prep.

Overall, the hotel was adequate, but I would probably check out other options for my next trip.

We enjoyed the Residence Inn. We had 4 adults in our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom room. The hotel room was bigger than our apartment in Dallas. It was clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was great.

The parking is free, I think, but we took taxi's everywhere. It is about 1 mile from the French Quarter, which is easily walkable during the day, and we did it multiple times. However, at night we took a 10 dollar cab ride home, since the warehouse district didn't seem too great for walking at night.

The best part was the value. 180 a night in New Orleans. Great! Other places were about 200 a night a room, making it 400 a night for the 4 of us.

If you want a be a little bit further from the scene to save some money-then this is the place for you. It was nice to be away from the craziness of the French Quarter.
