Spent the weekend of March 25 to March 27. First let me say that their staff is excellent. This is a lovely hotel one block away from Bourbon street. our 4 th floor room had a small balcony overlooking Toulouse st. The only problem with that is the hotel across the street had a very loud something ( sounded like a garbage compactor) running 24 hrs a day. Next time I would ask for an inner courtyard balcony room. The courtyard is very pretty with a pool and many plants.
We got a fantastic rate ( my boyfriend booked thru orbitz)
the room was large ( it was a corner room) nicely furnished and clean. The bathroom with separate dressing area was a bonus for us because it takes me forever to dry my hair.
the balcony with wrought iron railing was pretty but small, could have used a small table and chairs.
the parking was only $20 / day with in/out priveledges and agin the staff here was courteous and professional.
the restaurant was very nice the food was ok ( we only had breakfast and their menu is limited as they have just reopened, we have been told by others that the food for dinner and lunch is very good) , with the exception of the pecan pie which a local told us about. That was out of this world.
internet daily rate in the room was only 4.95
The not so positives
the water pressure was not great ( although I doubt much can be done about it - it wasn't bad, but I like a really strong shower. My boyfriend thought it was fine, but he likes those rain type shower heads )
there is a slightly musty smell that we noticed all over the city which probably has to do with all the flooding that went on. I wouldn't call it mildew and it didn't set my allergies off but I don't remember it last time we visited 3 years ago.
The beds were just Ok but not super comfortable. i like those pillow top plush beds, but if you like a medium mattress then it is fine.
Over all I would stay here again gladly and reccomend it to any one looking for a nice French Quarter hotel. The city needs tourism to get back on its feet, so we felt good doing our part. The city is much quieter than I remember and some of the restaurants haven't reopened, some are limited hours etc.
