This was our second stay at the St. Marie. Comfortable room and great service from the staff. I don't understand some of the complaints about the decor, elevator and wear on the rooms. This is an old French Quarter hotel. That's the charm of it. If you're looking for the Ritz, go stay at a modern hotel. The hotel staff greeted us EVERY time we entered or exited the hotel. Very friendly. Even the maintenance people engaged us in conversation. Stayed for 5 nights and will certainly stay again on our next trip to NOLA.

I have to say, this was a great stay! The front desk was very helpful! Ask for either Tanya or John at the front desk. These two seemed to be on the same page&sent us to great attractions!! The valets,I believe were Simon&jeremy, also very kind individuals. They made us old folk feel right at home! But the hotel in general was a great spot&could not have been better. It seemed to be a hotel that really cared about us&are stay in the Nola! Thanks so much to Hotel St. Marie for making us so happy to visit a wonderful city!!:)

If you prefer old, sagging mattress's, lumpy pillows, thin/sandpaper sheets, towels so old and thin you could see through them, this is the place for you. We stayed in Room 608. The carpeting was filthy, there we no duvets, comforters or bedskirts on the beds. The beds were made up with two thin sheets with a thin blanket between them. When we checked in the staff was friendly and helpful. Checking out was different story. They really need their attitudes adjusted. The location of this hotel is terrific. Courtyard very pretty, pool dirty.

The Hotel St. Marie has delivered stellar service, charming ambience and unbeatable convenience throughout the 17 years I've been patronizing the property for personal, business and family stays as well as the countless times I've used it for my tour groups. The rooms are comfortable, the courtyard is quiet, private and a welcome respite after a "hard day's night" in the Quarter. Located only a half-block from Bourbon Street on Toulouse, you are insultated from the lively street sounds just a few steps away. The bar, recently reopened, is a fun little gathering place as well. All-in-all, this hotel is consistently good and always a great value!

Room Tip: Any of the courtyard-facing rooms are always a plus.

Beware of this place. Very disappointing. Booked a deluxe king room. Arrived to be given a room with a terrible quality queen. Demanded to be moved to a room with a king. Got a crap room that smells like bleach with a tiny window that won't open. Carpets dirty. Staff surly.

My friends and I have been New Orleans many times over the years, as our hometown is only about 2 hours away. We booked this hotel mainly because of the location. However, it was surprisingly quaint and offered everything we needed. First of all, the location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is right in the heart of the French Quarter. Our favorite spots were just steps from the hotel. It also had a bar and great restaurant for breakfast. They even have a great happy hour in the bar. There's a small grocery store just across the street that offers a pretty good selection of snacks, beer, and wine surprisingly, and the prices are great! The hotel and courtyard were beautiful. The french doors of the suites open out onto the courtyard which is wonderful this spring time of the year! The rooms have very high ceilings, and they were very clean and appealing. Although our room was right near the street, it was surprisingly quiet despite the hustle and bustle. The staff was also extremely friendly. We were upgraded to a junior suite for free, and our friends were upgraded from a junior to a regular courtyard suite for free as well. The hotel we previously stayed at cost nearly double the cost of this hotel, and it was not nearly as charming. We were very pleased with this hotel, especially for the price!

This was my first trip to "Nola" and it was fabulous! The Hotel St Marie is so charming, and the staff was amazing!

Jenn checked us in and showed us where our room was. She also gave us a map and made several recommendations as to places we should check out. They were all wonderful suggestions!

John Marshall and Dena also helped suggest spots to check out and were both amazing as well.

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, and I plan on staying there again on my next trip to New Orleans!! :-)
