Move to the St. Marie from the Prince Conti when the Valentino hotels decided to combine guests Monday 8/27 as Isaac was preparing to hit New Orleans. And while the re-check in was a little chaotic (no one -- guest or staff -- seemed to know exactly how it was going to work) everything was settled smoothly. I needed to extend an extra day as the airport was closed, and the manager gave me the cheap rate I had pre-paid on line for the extra night -- about half of the rack rate I think. Manager and front desk staff especially could not have been more helpful or pleasant during what must have been a very trying time. These folks really stepped up! Power was out for maybe 10 minutes when the storm hit strongest. Otherwise no loss of water, AC, Internet.

Room Tip: Balcony room overlooking pool courtyard was very nice.

The hotel is ideally placed with a 1 minute stroll to the action yet far enough away from the noise. Staff are helpful but you have to ask! Rooms looking tired (in particularly the carpets) - had to change room as the first had a strong musty smell. Hotel claims to have an outdoor pool - probably best described as a small splash pool with murky looking water in the rear courtyard that is mainly in the shade (no lounging by the pool). Parking in the area is difficult with only valet parking at the hotel available at $33 per night. New Orleans offers an amazing & vibrant atmosphere & has to be seen to be appreciated - a must for the young at heart.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to ask to change if you are not happy with your first choice.

We have a big room, with great air conditioning. Love the location. We printed our airline boarding pass at the kiosk they provide. Clean for New Orleans. Slow elevator that is usually full. The courtyard is quiet at night and that is a big plus.

Great location-walking distance to Bourbon street as well as the river. Restaurant was great for breakfast. Quaint balconies-although they faced the courtyard, felt very private. Staff were
friendly and informative. Perfect for new comers to New Orleans.

Spent 3 nights at Hotel St. Marie. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Restaurant was really good! Pretty courtyard with pool. Good Bar! Nice room. All round neat place. Far enough from Bourbon to not hear it, but close enough to feel like your in the thick of things. It is a great home base for staying in the Quarter. Terrific location. We will stay at Hotel St. Marie again. Loved it!
