“A real bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

My wife and I spent three nights at the Prince Conti, having selected it after studying a number of TripAdvisor reviews quite carefully. First impressions, arriving on an airport shuttle, weren't good as our driver chose to approach via a couple of particularly tatty streets. In fact, if we hadn't paid in advance, my wife might well have insisted that we go somewhere else. However, once inside the rather cramped reception area we were dealt with in a friendly and courteous manner and given a good recommendation to a nearby restaurant as it was already well into the evening and we had been travelling most of the day. Our room, though fairly small, was clean and comfortable and everything worked. It was also commendably quiet given the hotel's proximity to the frenzy that is Bourbon. The only problems we experienced concerned service at breakfast which can best be described as erratic, with excessive delays all three mornings for different reasons each time. With that slight query I would recommend the Prince Conti to anyone seeking a budget hotel in New Orleans.

I got rooms for this hotel online for $49/night. I can't get a Motel 8 in Baltimore for $49/night so I can't make to many complaints. The rooms were clean but old. The hotel is old. But, it is truly a half block from Bourbon street and you cannot hear the noise. The Erin Rose bar across the street is a really fun little place and the staff at the Conti are more than willing to make recommendations. If you can get this price, take the chance. All you need in NOLA is a bed and a toilet. You shouldn't be spending too much time in your room anyway!

I was in town for a convention. I am a native to the city, but currently live out of town. My company had several rooms booked for the WEFTEC convention. Due to an error in the booking, which I did not know about. By mistake, all rooms were checked out of by a colleague, however, I was to stay 1 more night. Since I didn 't know about the mistake. I was contacted by the manager and told that if I didn't remove all my things from my room they woudl be thrown out on the street. I was in meetings all day and could not get out to the hotel in his time frame. He had a police officer there waiting for me.
not only was the situation explained to him, to no avail. He was rude abrasive, and I believe that this is illegal in Louisiana.
I travel for a living. I stay in hotels all the time. this was the worse incident, I have ever seen. It would be rude to continue on to talk about the other things that were mishandled by the hotel during my stay, because that could happen at any hotel and my 3 day stay in now way indicates a consistent negative pattern.

No such action was taken by management. Guest was notified that hotel could not accommodate an extended stay request over sold-out period and offered to help make other arrangements. Guest acknowledged his error and declined assistance from the hotel. Every effort was made to accommodate.

Nice hotel in good location with good size rooms. Very basic continental breakfast included, car parking $25 per day. Bombay Club (bar at hotel) serves great martinis.

My friend booked our rooms through priceline...

last time i am going to use that plus still go stay at the hotel after reading all the reviews here... i figured it would be a positive hotel to stay at... was i wrong.... First of didn't even know where to pull in too to find the valet guys to get my car... while checking in to the hotel... i was given an old GOLD KEY not even a key card... which was so strange since i have never heard of a three star hotel with old fashion keys. By the way you have to use your key to enter from the front door as well, otherwise the frond desk clerk wont even look at you... Stepping into the room the pillows were really flat, my tv was an ancient box, the wireless was good but internet was not secure i got a pop up screen someone was trying to access my files... and i was able to see everyones computer that was connected at the hotel... this is what you get from a non franchised hotel... I would never stay here again... front desk were not friendly.. the guy checking us in opened up a book when someone had called and they had *^&( words written about guest in red that was easily able to be viewed... About the Valet they told me it was $25 but i found out they charge $3 tax on that... which i have never heard of as well... during check out i heard a guest and the manager talking about how the valet driver lost the guests key... and they will have to find a way to get him a new key... the customer was unhappy since he didnt know when they were going to get him a key and when he would be able to make his way back home.... very strange and unprofessional to lose a guest key for a valet service that they charge you $28 bucks a night for.... oh yeah they do not have a vent in the restroom so you have to keep the door open so your mirror doesnt get soo foggy and it gets uncomfortable to get ready after your shower... I heard people have sex in the middle of the night because the walls are so thin... guest checking in and out upstairs... I will never read and go by these people that were happy to find a cheap room and forget about the fact on how of a disgrace this hotel is to a three start... i would give it a one star... oh yeah the breakfast i was told by the front desk is coffee and rolls... which we didnt even bother to try... and ate outside of the hotel... forget this place
