“Excellent large suite, if a little run down”
Reviewed February 21, 2013 via mobile

A quiet sanctuary in the middle of the French quarter at reasonable price. Booked a standard room and as New Orleans was quiet was given a ground floor suite with a huge lounge and private walled garden. Very impressive. Looking beyond this the hotel obviously has a large amount of visitors, is an older building itself and shows some wear, mainly in high traffic hall areas. Clean enough and probably last updated some years ago. So it is all a compromise but having been booked in by my work I would return if the price was right. Good but not outstanding, location is everything.

Late Review:

As an Brit, no trip to the South would have been complete without a trip to New Orleans...
Upon accidentally finding this hotel last minute on the internet the day before we were due to set off from Alabama I was immediatly impressed and was not disapointed upon arrival.
The hotel is in the best location, smack bang in the middle of the French Quater, 2 mins walk to Bourbon St. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Rooms clean and spacious.

Recommend this hotel :-D

The people and location were fantastic! this hotel was right where you wanted it to be. half a block from bourbon in the main section of town yet when in the room you couldn't hear anything from outside. other rooms you could hearand tht was a downfall. but most of the people that were there after Mardi gras were not that bad. the only downfall I had was the room size was pretty tight quarters for 4 people. but maybe a suite would've been better. The bar accross the street the Erin Rose has the best drink I have ever had "frozen irish coffee it is amazing

Room Tip: rooms in the 30s to 50s are quiter on each floor but not a good view of anything

My husband and I stayed at the Prince Conti hotel for 3 nights. This was our third trip to the Crescent City, and the Prince Conti was the second historic, French Quarter hotel we stayed in. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel was clean, nicely furnished and the staff was friendly. It was in a great location for wandering around the historic French Quarter neighborhood or for catching a street car or bus to other sites in the city. The mattress on the bed was a bit firm, but my husband liked it (he has a bad back). One thing we didn't love was the pillows. They were floppy and unsubstantial. We had a room with windows, so we heard a little street noise; but I slept rather soundly despite that. We were there over the President's Day weekend and there were more street artists and bands there than the last time we went in October 2009. We had a great time!

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room if you won't be claustrophobic without windows. I don't mind a small...

We live in Madisonville Lousiana, we just wanted to get away and have a good time in the quarter . The Prince Conti was the perfect place. Beautiful Hotel, awesome room, & great staff. The Bombay club on site is supposed to be haunted by a famous Madame but we didn't see her. No haunting in our room. Just a wonderful time.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything in the French Quarter. Within walking distance of everything! Our room was exquisite. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We can confirm this hotel is haunted if you're into that sort if thing but we were never bothered by any ghosts so don't be scared! This was our first trip to New Orleans - we were there for Mardi Gras and I would never stay anywhere else!! We found the more expensive and well known hotels were in a bad location so we would never stay near Canal St. Prince Conti is half a block off Bournon St. Excellent time and I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for Carnival weekend from Thursday-Monday. Our stay could not have been any better!!! Check in was a breeze and all the bellmen were amazing!!!! The room was way in the back at the end of the hall so it was so quiet and private. The exposed brick wall made it totally "New Orleans". I see some reviews complaining about the valet prices but you have to pay in any large city you go to. I have stayed at other New Orleans hotels and the Price Conti is actually cheaper per night than most!!!! I usually like trying new hotels everytime I go but I think all my Mardi Gras trips will include the Prince Conti from now on!!!!!!!!!!!
