I actually found this hotel after being referred to the Bombay Club as a good place to eat. (And boy is it.) When I went back to NOLA just before my wedding, my (then) future sister in law and I stayed here until the rest of the wedding party arrived. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Since it's not right on Bourbon, you can actually get some sleep, but it's close enough to hit all the nightlife. While I haven't had a chance to go back since my wedding, my SIL and I fully intend for this to be our new "girls weekend" hotel when we go!

The Prince Conti is part of a small group of hotels run by the Valentino family. This is the second time I stayed at a hotel run by them. The Prince Conti was a great value with clean rooms and a helpful staff. It's only 1/2 block from Bourbon Street yet feels farther away because it's relatively quiet. Book on the hotels site for the lowest rate.

I can't emphasize enough how great the location was. It was close enough to bourbon street that you could stumble your way home if necessary, but there was no spillover of the drunks near our hotel. We walked to everything and the staff was kind and super helpful.

We stayed there after a cruise. It is not a new hotel, but is well maintained and very clean. Our room was mid-sized and comfortable. The location is great. The staff was helpful and gracious. It is almost one block off Bourbon Street, so it is far enough away where the noise didn't reach us, but close enough to Bourbon Street to enjoy the action. Also a good location for the trolley for Canal Street, and a comfortable walk to Jackson Square. My only problem was that the lobby was very small, and there was no place for coffee. There was a machine in the room, but nothing in the lobby. this hotel only has rooms and a very helpful staff. No pool, no exercise room, no business room. It does have free wifi. There was a very nice German restaurant across the street.

From the moment we parked our car on the street, this nice gentleman showed up and parked our car in their hotel parking place. We were ushered to our room, what a lovely room it was! This building was built in 1800, but there was a lot of upgrade. It's a block from the main street, so it was quiet in the evening and we rested well. Overall, it's a great place it you want to be in French Quarter yet you don't want the noise.

I had trouble deciding how to rate this hotel. It had some flaws, but in the four days we spent there, the pros outweighed the cons.

OK, first the cons: The carpet in our room should have been changed a LONG time ago and had a huge stain near the end of the bed. The chair looked as if a dog had chewed off a piece. The walls are thin (fortunately we had quiet neighbours).

Now the pros: Excellent value (I booked on-line, directly with the hotel, far in advance). The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and part of it had a 12-foot ceiling. The Bombay bar downstairs is great. The Prince Conti is very conveniently situated (close to Bourbon Street, which can be a pro or con). So, in the end, its charm won out and would recommend it.

Very cozy, quiet and clean accommodations.Price is excellent for proximity to Bourbon for just two people. Architecture and decor is true to New Orleans. Old world charm. The only complaint is the extra person charge. They are very serious (and slightly rude about it). Kind of takes the "value" out of it. Hotels great for 100 bucks a night, for 40 more or 20 per extra person, there are nicer hotels in the area. I mean your sharing a double size bed, not Queen. They also charge 30 per day for parking so it adds up. If you are flying in and don't have to worry about a car or just staying one night it's a great choice.
