“Great location and good service”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We have just stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the place very much. There is a bit of noice from the street and the interior of the hotel is new the newest, but it is a friendly place and worked well for us. The small breakfast restaurant in the building serves delicious food and there is a great choice of healthy as well as indulgent dishes to choose from. There is also a Bombay restaurant in the building which we did not try. The valet parking service is very useful and works fast. We got good inspiration for where to eat, where to go for Jazz music, tours in the surroundings etc. at the reception.

We stayed here for New Year's Eve & the sugar bowl this year. The location was great, walking distance to everything. Bring your earplugs, this is an older hotel so the walls are thin. The staff if great as is the office shop. Rooms are small but clean & nice. I would differently stay here again.

My family spent 5 nights at the Prince Conti and just loved it. The building is lovely and fits right in with the French Quarter. We appreciated the fact it is smaller and not the cold sterile style of the big chain hotels. I had a lovely suite for a VERY reasonable price. My sons had a smaller but wonderful room. The staff was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. We particularly loved Wille Cole. He handled our bags, parked the car and was helpful with suggestions about the area. We had more contact with him than any other.
While the hotel has a very French Quarter antique style, the internet worked beautifully and we had everything we needed. It really is true that even though the hotel is one block from Bourbon Street, when you are in your room you can't hear a thing. We were there for New Year's Eve so it got quite rowdy outside but was quiet in the room.
My only suggestion? Get some new mattresses. My family talked about this on the way home and while we all had pretty uncomfortable beds, somehow we all slept just fine.
We had a really wonderful vacation, New Orleans is a magical place, and we will all be back as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Looks like many of the rooms are unique and each has its own style. Pick the price you are comforta...

We enjoyed the convenient location less than a block from Bourbon Street. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had a large enough clean room with a comfortable bed. The soaps were better than average and the price was good. When we left for breakfast with the “clean our room” sign on the door, the room was clean when we got back to brush our teeth. We could see the corner of Bourbon Street from our window. We would stay there again.

Our first impression walking in was that we were in an old building that had been remodeled but has kept the feel of New Orleans. The front desk is 4 steps from the main entrance as is the elevator, a great thing if you are mobility challenged. The location is easy to drive to without going through the traffic nightmare of other locations especially once streets are closed after dark. Within a 4 block area you will find some of the more well known watering holes and 5 star dining houses. We stayed in a king delux room that had lots of space for our power mobility scooter as well even though it was not a designated handicap room. There are lots of power outlets as well and the wifi Internet worked throughout the building without a problem. One thing we did like was the entry door lock that senses the room key from close range without having to dig it put of your wallet. Access to the lobby is restricted after hours as well.

We searched for a reasonably priced hotel within the French Quarter area and the Prince Conti fitted the bill well. Hotel is located on Conti Street which intersects Boubon Street and is less than a block along Conti. 1 minute walk and you are on Bourbon but we liked the fact that it was far enough away to not te the loud night time noise fom Bourbon Street.
The Conti is an older property - it is the French Quarter after all - and it is definitely showing signs of age but there is a very chique feel about e place. The reception is small but check in was fast and friendly. There is an ATM machine in the lobby which is handy and also a door guy on duty at all times and he helped us a lot. He will help with luggage, call cabs, give tourist info and maps etc.
We booked a junior suite which was located at he back of the hotel and was huge. I think ours was a corner suite which is why it was bigger. There is a good sized full bathroom and a sitting area with couch and chair. Also a fridge in the room , 2 TV's and a very comfy king size bed.
The area is safe to walk at night as long as you walk towards Bourbon St and he river. Do not walk in the direction away from Bourbon as we did hat one night and within a few blocks things get very sketchy with lots of seedy looking individuals.
Opposite the hotel is a German bistro/cafe type eatery which serves an excellent fresh cooked breakfast at good prices.
All in all a good hotel, close to the action on Bourbon and good value.

Great location in the French Quarter. Recommend to everyone heading for a weekend away. Walking distance to all the main sites of the French Quarter.
Safe and secure parking. Great staff that is always ready to assist you. We have stayed there enough times that they almost know our names.
